Anyway - the idea of the universe collapsing and disappearing. Another point, the traces of the big bang have already been detected, and is known as the Cosmic Background Radiation, and is the faint microwave background left over after the big bang. But the big bang shouldn't be taken literally. General Relativity jsut predicts there to be a point in time at which temperature, density and curvature of the universe to be infinite aka a singularity aka the big bang.

I read the technical paper from CERN and a few others that had been released in criticism of the findings and just like # 10 mentioned, the timing of the machines and calibrations were under scrutiny... Also, I read in another paper that the neutrinos were created from a beam of protons and that the specific point along the beam at which the neutrinos were created can not be determined and therefore that provides some experimental error akin to the 6billionths of a second faster than light that they were clocked travelling...

I've been going through one of the hardest times in my life lately and it's because of something like this. Last friday night i dropped two of my best mates at one of their places after we'd been to a bbq and had some beers. They took one of their bikes, a yamaha R1 for a cruise, and were both involved in an accident in which their poor judgement (and fcuking stupidity 
)resulted in them speeding over a crest on this road and they went air borne and lost control. I got a call the next morning telling me the rider, is in critical condition in hospital and my best mate, couldnt be revived at the scene. I cant forgive myself for letting them get on the fucking bike.
A lot of people see these ads aimed at this and similar issues and blow them off. They're there for a reason, listen to them. I had my whole world shattered and everybody i know has stopped taking life for granted. These things DO happen.

Also, almost every distant star observed are red shifted, which mean they are moving away from us.

Im from Australia, and here, it isnt as regulated as tap water because it falls under the category 'medicinal' in the govt. I just finished my degree in geology, and i did a subject on hydrology. I bet most of you who are saying that your bottled water is natural are so ignorant in saying that. Half the rocks that filter this water are laden with heavy metals and salts, for example, a british bottling company opened an extraction facility in india. After 20 years they had dozens of law suits because they didnt test for arsenic in the water they were using and hungreds of people eventually died of arsenic poisining. And its happening all the time, hence now why they must label the bottles with the lab analysis for the constituents. And usually, these are outside the thresholds set by the govt for tap water.

#5 let me inform you. There is no cyclical volcanic eruptions. They simply blow when too much pressure builds. So with Yellowstone it's a little naive to say it is over-due for one. In 1992 they thought it was going to blow because of increased bulging in the lands surface around the area, and increased activity of underground magma movement, but the magma plume disintegrated. If it were to blow, pretty sure we would all be screwed world-over, not just in the states. Ash would be blown into the stratosphere impacting our climate and sending us more than likely into an 'ice house' period. Just a thought...

#10 Humming Birds, obviously are a type of bird, they have all the features a typical bird has, therefore there is an evolutionary link 'in-between' them, regardless of whether or not other birds can hover. Its a trait thats allowed them to live, they're not a completely different class of animal.
Also, almost every flower relies on pollinators to spread its seeds (not produce them).
Still, pretty amazing bird.
