I can see where you are coming from...Yes, perhaps he has told these kids many times to stop skating around in the park, however that is very unlikely. Since you have not experienced this, i will tell you how cops deal with this. First time they see you they will ask you for your name and everything, tell you to GTFO and never come back. This is obviously the first time the cop has met the kids skating..hence how he asked for all of their information and acted in a manor where he had not met them.

With this being said, the cop could have also been overworked that day, once again very possible and probable. But even so, that is no way to treat children at the age of 14. He should know how to deal with a problem and actually serve justice as he is obligated to do, not make a fool of himself and beat on small children.

Now then, regarding the RESPECT issue. Why do we give people respect? because they have earned it. Think back to the beginning of the movie when he comes out of a miniature euro car, wearing a yellow/blue top with shorts and OF COURSE a badge. Now, don't judge by appearance.. yes yes i know. But would an actual cop that protects people wear that? No, no he wouldn't.

For the topic of DISRESPECTING PROPERTY. Of course, none of us want this to happen, but how much do we really care about it? And yes, graffiti is one thing, but making scratches on things? My god, are you really that fucking anal retentive that you notice these things?

For many 14 year olds, this is just a simple phase that they will get over, but the fact that the cop treated the kids with such hatred will be a life long phase. Now all the respect the kids did have for the cops, they no longer do. So now, these kids WONT respect the cops that save lives, the cops that bust coke deals, the cops that kill criminals. And its all thanks to this ASSHOLE.

Atkinc088, obviously you have never met a cop while skateboarding on a street. You are a fool, you think that what the cop did is just, yet it is the opposite completely. What does skating in the community do to society? A mere bit of entertainment for many, and of course the occasional scratch on a piece of metal. Do you look at a bench's scratch marks and vote if it looks nice?.

Much to what dvh had quoted, this is why many kids grow up hating cops. This cop must have had an experience or two with bullying as a child. No one w/o an anger problem "is at the end of their fuse" and throws a 14 year old kid to the ground as if it were a drug bust.
