They also generate tons of heat internally. The cooling mechanism is very interesting - especially since many proteins denaturate very quickly at high temperatures. Those bumblebees' filament proteins for example can take up to 80°C - because thats what the internal temperature around the wing muscles can become !!

Another example is how messed up the nitrogen cycle is due to fertilizers, or how exctinction of single algae species can reduce the primary production of ecosystems dramatically. All that seems small now but will affect humanity one day.

This is why german elections almost always result in two or three political parties collaborating in a state. Parties can throw their votes together to obtain the majority of votes. This ensures that most voters are represented according to their vote.
These so called coalitions then sit down to find common ground in order to get things done. This results in productive governments most of the time. If the government fails hard, the coalition is cancelled and the voters have to vote again. Inconvenient perhaps, but fair.

with some cgi and lots of money and time a skilled video director can do the same thin with the combined cameras in this room, the result will be a camera jounrey around the couple (altough not leveled) with everybody frozen in place. hence bullet time.

color perception can work many ways, like with the rubisco in our eyes, or simply by exciting electrons to higher orbitals so when they fall down its shows as light (color)
these guys apply another different method in EACH of their skin cells, which means its vision plays no part in it. it doesnt need to see what color its surroundings are it just needs to hit some internal "omg adapt now" switch and all its skin cells probe their environments for colors to imitate

Ok I agree with #5 talking from personal experience; I lived in the US for 1 year and a half and was asked questions like 1. did I use the bridge to cross from europe 2. is hitler still in jail 3. does germany have computers already 4. doesnt germany look like bosnia or some gloomy place. plus many couldnt name major capitals in the world or the continents and my "brother" over there who was 16 at the time thought latin was from latin america.
Thats why I agree with #5 because I also met very distinguished and intelligent people too who were well aware of the predominant ignorance in their country. In my opiniom this is partly due to the variable curriculum of the school system (home ecs and sports in the final school year count as grades, cmon) and a lack of media coverage of the rest of the world, IF you watch the mainstream channels that is.

sooo in this case these poor formicidae lost track of the swarm and lost the pheromone trail. not knowing where to go, the front ones stopped, getting overtaken by the ones behind them and then following THEIR pheromone trail. this can repeat many times, forming a circular motion causing each ant to follow the one in front until they die.

I remember when I was a kid my parents wouldnt allow us to consume dairy products or play in the rain because of the massive cloud of fallout resulting from the accident. Considering I grew up in northern Germany I cant even imagine what it mustve felt like for the polish and ukrainian people after the Russian administration finally admitted what had happened.

I own 2 tarantulas and there is nothing dangerous about them if you know what you are doing.
in fact getting them out to show them off like this is one of the most common mistakes. this causes accidents with spider or human and although nothing happens 99,9% of the time its still like the only situation where it might go wrong. I dont take mine out except for cleaning the terrarium

The human genome relies a lot on splicing to produce the very diverse proteins. A microorgansism has hardly any introns and therefore needs no splicing. Those on off swithces you mention are there, but its really not that simple
