First, it started to be shown just before the game was released, most of the communication was done already, and the first game was good enough to be remembered by people. Most of the gamers I know were already looking forward to it months before. The game didn't need this.
Then, who's the target for this ad? It is supposed to be a rated M game, or 18+ in Europe. Which player would need his/her mother's agreement to play it? Either EA is openly targetting a younger audience than it should, or something doesn't make sense here.
