I was thinking of witty things to say in response to this video but all that came to mind was: How bad do the living conditions in that shop have to be that the exhibits develop psychological disorders so bad, that they start eating themselves.

And if your brain isn't capable of processing a disturbance then you DON'T FEEL A DISTURBANCE!
Any animal with a central nervous system definetly feels fear, and pain.

Oh wow this vid is ancient.. Nevertheless quite a talented young man I'd say..
Btw it's interesting how he creates the lower pitched thumps or the bass kick. If you watch carefully you'll see that he makes a bass kick by lifting the canister a little off the ground with his leg, thus allowing more airflow in the canister as he hits it, thus creating a lower pitch tone.. Quite genius

80. moskwiz commented 14 years ago on video Message From Down syndrome Workers !
Well.. This comment will probably earn me a pretty bad score, still, I'm going to voice one of my views on this:
Down syndrome put aside (many Down people are indeed capable of relatively normal lives and social outputs) I think that in-womb discoveries of fetal retardation should be regarded as definite abortion cases - having a retarded baby is in no-one's benefit, including the fetus itself, not to mention the total over-crowdedness of Earth by man already.. Special people also need special care, that means resource..
I know how this sounds like, sounds like I'm the biggest chauvinist bastard alive, but think about.. it's true

96. moskwiz commented 15 years ago on video Underwater Creature Camouflage
#13 Every mutation results in new genetic information by definition.. That's pretty much what mutation means, that a gene or a chromosome has changed because of something.
Mutations that are not harmful might be useful and if the specimen with a useful mutation is more successful in life than the other specimens without it, it might become favorable and that specimen could prevail as a dominant one. Other specimens would then start preferring to procreate with it rather than other specimens without the favorable mutation. This would go on until most of the specimens in the population had the new mutation thus rendering the old genome obsolete and voila, a new evolutionary version of the animal would be created.
Pretty hard to argue with that really.. Darwin or no Darwin.. besides I think trying to prove God with technology or scientific method (which is what creationism is) is a really dumb thing to do and it dampens faith as a whole.
God doesn't need to be proven of being the creator of all things. In my view, Darwinism or modern science doesn't even conflict with God in any way.. Mutations are one of the prime causes for evolution, now who created mutations, is another question altogether

I saw somewhere a show about the Japanese maglev trains.. and it stated that they are now carrying out tests and developing a tunnel for the maglev trains that would be pumped out of air so there'd be virtually no air resistance..
They stated that maglev's could then potentially reach speeds of 3000km/h (1800mph) and up with no problem..
And again: they're already developing that system.. Imagine.. Paris to Beijing in like 5 or so hours (dunno the dist betw. the two so just an assumptional figure).. Commercial airlining would be cut in half!

No but when it comes to convenience and (mainly) amenity, USA is usually a step ahead of the rest of us.. While the Old World was still having to endure having bigger arm-muscles from manually winding car-windows up and down and actually move their arms to switch between gears in their cars, the Americans were installing water beds in theirs

125. moskwiz commented 12 years ago on video Don't buy puppies
@ #3 Yes, the around 50% (I'm guessing) or so, of the puppies, who don't get broken limbs or infections from poor living conditions look like they've been well kept, that doesn't mean the living conditions are good for them. If you need to mass produce something with a profit, then forget about living conditions as any kind of a priority..
@ #5 Dog farming is wrong because it's gaining monetary profit at the expense of other animals (effective in all types of farming), who directly suffer as a result. Dogs, like cats, are not necessarily pack animals and as separating a child from its mother is a tragedy, it's not so bad for domestic dogs and cats. This is so because the mother-care period doesn't last very long for these animals anyway, plus most pets are kept as "children" anyway, so their caretakers are just being replaced, in a sense..
The real moral here is that the stray dog/cat problem is growing ever larger and it is a direct result (in part) of puppy farming - the bigger the circulation of a certain good (in this case, the animals), the bigger the "leftover."
Why would anyone buy a dog or a cat for money in a pet shop if across the street, the kennel is bursting at the seems of dogs and cats who actually need a home?

If you didn't know, rabbits have a secret weapon for scaring off possible predators- in dire need and when a rabbit sees there's no other choice, it will scream a really high-pitch cry. Anyway, when my father, who is a zoologist at our local zoo, was asked to demonstrate that sound on an actual rabbit he replied- no i can't do that but if you'd like i can show you your dying howl..

I love US cars, especially old ones, if not to take into account their rather steep fuel economy
Coming back to topic though, we would have to find out if making a pizza box like this would cost us more energy than it helps save; if not, only then could it be considered a save in energy and a look into the greener future. Until that, it's just good advertising.
#(removed comment) .. we have come to a point in Earth's history where saying things like that isn't even remotely amusing anymore .. Well in my opinion (and i happen to share it with my father who is a proffessional zoologist, biosemioticist, ethologist etc.) the most explainable theory as to how these elephants can paint is that Elephants have extremely good memory-power. And being rather well-tameable (in lack of a better word) their animal raisers have used a certain technique where they take a blunt object and carve a well visible contour (of the picture being drawn) onto it. The elephant is then shown how to and instructed to follow that certain contour with a paintbrush. Having great memories the Elephants quickly memorize the contour - and voila, magic trunklings

I agree with #6 and #24
#8 and #(removed comment) on the other hand, are idiots...
No wild animal will purposely try to attack or endanger anyone outside of their menu unless that someone poses a direct threat to the wild animal.. If you're minding your business at home, and a bear comes in the front door - ofcourse you will defend yourself. Same goes for the rattler who is in its natural habitat in the wild and man is the invader.
[Quote/] We do it to lower populations of animals so they won't overpopulate and do it to us... [/]
What a crock of shit! You do it because you think it's fun for some odd reason.. In the last 100 years or so, EVERY SINGLE ecosystem (apart from antropogenous ones) has been in decline, the populations associated with them naturally also.
[Quote/] Would you feel the same way about a Funnel Web spider that took-up living around your children's sandbox ? Deadly animals can not be allowed to exist in areas where confrontation is likely , like around your home or ranch.[/] Well, this is true in a way. On the other hand what most people don't realize is that your home or ranch (particularly in new-made suburban areas) is situated in those animals' natural habitat - THEIR HOME. Ensure they can't crawl in your backyard by securing it thoroughly.. Chopping off a snakes head because it poses a threat to your pool-party is not the answer. You are the threat!

It's rather understandable, why Chinese kitchen has developed into this kind of a weird display of what most others consider barbaric and disgusting. Chinese are large in numbers, but quite poor, so they have learned to eat what they get their hands on.. Chinese food is full of these kinds of vile ways, from eating baby mice to all sorts of insects and worms and god knows what..

Only in America? .. well actually not. In Soviet Russia this (and much worse kinds of Propaganda) were very ordinary and the whole system was actually built on so called 'representationism' where all of the matters of the state were publicly simply painted to be much nicer and prettier than they actually were. It was one of the main reasons why the Iron Curtain was so effective and why actually, to this day, most of the rest of the world still has no clear clues as to how the regime really looked like on the inside.. Heck, most of the former 'allies' still regard USSR as the savior for all the Eastern-European states it occupied.
Modern Russia hasn't changed a lot in some of these aspects btw.. After Putin came to power there was a staggering nationalisation of all the major news channels and newspapers and a lot of the Russians who started protesting this and tried publishing matters in their true colors were silenced, in quite grueling ways too.. Remember Politkovskaya? Remember Litvinenko?
This might be a little offtopic though.. Be that as it may, I just wanted to shed some light on international affairs on this matter

Warming effects aside, CO2 also effects a lot of flora and fauna species as well as habitats like the conifers of tundra or the coral reefs, which extinction would mark a new era of obliteration for Earth..
As for electric cars - they are a farce, as are windmills and the like.. If our governments really wanted to make a difference they would start passing bills to compel car manufacturers to produce cars with a 20 year warranty or batteries that you could pass on to your children - we have the technology, corporate greed is just in way. The CO2 bill is not a bad idea, but the fact that corporations and governments can trade their quotas on a market makes it just another money-machine.

The last sentence in your reply is the one you should stick with.. That's about it..
I quote myself [No wild animal will purposely try to attack or endanger anyone outside of their MENU unless that someone poses a direct threat to the wild animal..] Now WHAT PART OF the word 'MENU' don't you understand??!? Menu, as in stuff that the animal eats.. so if Cougars, Tigers and Polar Bears prey on man for food, then what part of what i said contradicts that?!?
And again.. NO animal (and we're talking healthy, distress-free animals in their own habitat) will try to attack you just because they're considered aggressive. A snake will pursue you in the bush because YOU ARE in its natural habitat, its the snakes home and it feels threatened by your presence (you being a big tall, extremely smelly and weird creature who moves around a lot). The word aggressive doesn't mean that an animal will do anything outside their instincts (stay alive, get food, reproduce), which attacking you 'without provocation' would be. It just means that an aggressive animal will more likely pick self-defense as a means to stay alive, over escaping.
I'm not saying man should the bitch of all the other animals because we have the ability to differentiate right from wrong.. I'm saying we also have the ability to understand quite a lot of how things work, for an example, with animals. And chopping off a snakes head because it got pissed off when you decided to go (figuratively speaking) poking it with a stick, is not acting upon that ability =)
Anything else? Or have I been dedacted from the ranks of '..stupid, uneducated fools'?

Well I've been in close contact with both polar-bears, tigers and cougars (not to mention a lot of venomous snakes) and just because the books don't say that humans are not normal prey doesn't mean that the aforementioned beasts could not consider us as a food source.
Just because you don't know that a rattler is lurking behind a rock, doesn't man that the rattler doesn't know you're coming. All snakes have an excellent sense of smell, rattlers included.
I say again: NO healthy wild animals will EVER distinctively attack anyone who isn't considered either dinner or a direct threat to the well being of the attacker (this includes not only the attacker itself, but depending on who we're talking about it might also include the attackers packmates or siblings or indeed why not even territory [if the attacker is a territorial animal]).
Whatever you think the rattler attacked you for, the reason is not in conflict with what I just said.
Animals (wild animals) don't do pointless things: it's a waste of energy.

In my country it is considered illegal to be driving if the alcohol level in the blood is more than 0.1 promills (pptv).
This is determined with a standard issue alcometer, the police conducts random tests in raid-days (where it is announced that there will be a big checkup on the roads that day) and randomly.
Estonia does have a drink and drive problem.. a lot of ppl get hurt on our roads.. noone really knows why this is.. I guess we just have a lot of adrenaline junkies on the road..
And sure, every country does have its own laws and its citizens should abide to them.. But in Estonia the chance of anyone stepping up to the police is a fraction of what it is in the States.. To get tasered by a cop in Estonia, you'd have to get out of the car, when you're pulled over, go to the trunk, get a 2x4 out of it and start walking firmly towards the police officer.. And they'd hesitate even then

#(removed comment) Most spiders in the Salticidae family (jumping spiders) have more advanced eyes than the majority of other arachnid families. This is so probably because of the Jumping spiders' jumping in itself. This ground-air-ground coordination requires a good eyesight, so their receptory organs have evolved accordingly
Should be mentioned that its eyes aren't really at the back of its head, they're still at the sides- the usual displacement for the final pair usually. They have just evolved to be at a slight glance backwards, so to speak, to grasp more of the surroundings.. also indeed a trait related strictly to the spiders ability to jump.
As for other animals,, it is hard to say, as the shape of the head of an animal often disqualifies that sort of question altogether because it can't be described as having a forward and a backward direction
I hope I answered your question to its fullest extent

Yes, their main diet is krill and plankton, but all wild animals are opportunists and when an opportunity such as this presents itself, it just isn't wise to refuse.

props to #4 .. Survivorman actually has some useful information on how to survive in the wild..
Ultimate Survival is just a modernized "action packed, epically extreme and super extra big-ass cool" etc. etc. kids show that gets its thrills from pathetic childish ploys. Nice tip for surviving in the wild: eat everything raw, regardless where you're at, what it is and if it has unknown bacteria in its blood in the millions or billions... What a moron.. I just hope young kids who watch this won't take this guy as a role model

As long as they keep building cars that don't last longer than 5-10 years it's a farce anyway because the ecological impact of the cars' engine is totally insignificant compared to the massive resources and pollution consumed in creating one, even if it runs on plutonium or squirrels..
Btw, #22 .. good points except for the only fossil fuels are bad bit. The atmosphere doesn't care where the increase in CO2 came from, it's all just CO2 and the reason there's so much of it, is because we're burning carbon so much. In a world with zero fossil fuels ever burned, you'd have a point, but right now we need to cut back on burning anything organic, fast!

And yes, Zoo animals are often well fed and less aggressive than their wild counterparts, which still wouldn't constitute my points as any less relevant =)

So this is where we disagree..
I believe that Man should respect the other species that live on this planet. After all we are all inhabitants of the same world. And I believe that if a new suburb is built on a rattlesnake 'infested' area, then killing off the rattlesnake population and justifying it with Man having to defend itself or whatever such is not the right answer.. That's ignorant. We are intelligent, rattlers aren't! We have more ways to defend ourselves than rattlers, we should use them!!!
But I'm really done now.. Pretty sure you're gonna want to have the last say in this so this is my last post.
Until the next touchy-subject video I bid you farewell

#10 had it right..
Also to everyone here worried about the snakes health and why he spat it out etc., this is one of the species of snake who specialises in eating bird-eggs. Puking the shells out after it has devoured the egg is completely natural as the snake cannot digest it. The snake would definitely not prefer an omelet as all snakes only eat whole things.. they cannot eat any liquid substances or mashed textures and the sort as they lack a proper larynx.
#9 it does happen.. but about as often as a person dying from suffocation after taking too big a bite of something

#5 in the long run it doesn't matter where you're burning it as long you burn it.. Ultimately we only have one atmosphere, one ecosystem and everything in it is inter-related. Take a look around your room and try to spot how many things are made of plastic (oil) or have plastic as a component? What do you think can we substitute that with once oil is gone?

Take a look around your room and try to spot how many things are made of plastic (oil) or have plastic as a component? What do you think can we substitute that with once oil is gone?

A) How does water evaporating cool the earth?!?!? More vapor in the atmosphere equals more heat trapping in it, equals warmer climate..
B) Clouds are a representation of a high humidity, thus high water vapor content in the air.. Read point A above, to comprehend why this contradicts you.
C) Gibberish
A2, B2, C2 does not make any sense what so ever
CO2 is a part of the atmosphere, making up around 0,039% of it.. It doesn't float in the atmosphere, it's part of it!
The ozone layer talk is utter gibberish.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozone_depletion
I suggest you demand back the tuition fees from whichever educational institutions you have passed through, elementary school included

@ #18 What i was referring to, is that wishing your best to people who need help is qualitatively different from wishing the worst to people who don't. Anger breeds hatred, hatred brings darkness in to the world. Karma is a bitch they say
As for hell, if you wish suffering to people, no matter if they deserve it or not, where do you think you're headed? You are not the one to judge ^^
This probably sounds like religious talk, but I am not religious.. I am moral. "An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind." -Mahatma Gandhi

#12 I do agree with you in the sense that we should first reform our ways, our economy, political and environmental institutions on Earth, to create some kind of a role-model for space-colonization - in other words we shouldn't look toward space and neglect the state of affairs on Earth.
However, I also believe that space-colonization would be a logical next step for a civilization such as ours.. we should just start from the inside - first make an actual Human Civilization and not take our childish quarrels and problems with us into space. If we can't evolve into a truly social species and remain clubbing each other to death with ever-bigger bludgeons, then there's no point in going to space.

Granted it is very difficult to convey these kinds of matters in a totally un-biased way, especially if the task is to educate the unspecialised and largely unknowing masses about something as controversial as fracking. I believe neither panic nor blind faith in the system are right stances in this case and the truth resides somewhere in the middle. What this whole thing does teach us for certain though, is that in our capitalist system, money rules and this is especially so for anything concerning fossil fuels - something which has been regarded as the ultimate goal in modern economy, with the power to even silently override government and state policy in the name of profit.
This is another one of these examples, where we are not faced with what's really wrong with the system, but are rather shown how a symptom of a system in crisis is wreaking havoc. I am quite sure fracking in residential areas should be banned absolutely for it is a highly industrial activity and big industry doesn't belong in peoples backyard. Our true goals shouldn't be in trying to get even more fossil fuels to be put to use in highly unoptimized ways but to limit fossil fuel use wherever possible and put more effort in developing safer and more sustainable forms of energy.
But yeah, compared to the tarsands this is small fish, as crazy as that might sound. We need industrial zones in a country made out of nature reserves, not the other way around.

508. moskwiz commented 15 years ago on video Whale Wars
#21 Based on what I've seen on the Whale Wars TV series and on the internet I must disagree with you.. I think that bureaucracy in a world where the equation 'money = power' is absolute, is rather weak a weapon if you only have a donation based non-profit organization working to push your agenda. Quite frankly a billion people could sign a petition to stop whaling, the Japanese would care less.. What Sea Shepherd is doing however, is having a direct effect on the whaling fleet. As the whaling season lasts for only a limited time each year, any moment that the Steve Irwin is interrupting the Japanese whaling fleet from harpooning the whales is indeed saving another bunch of whales.. So big ups to them..
As for their clause: give your life for that of a whale.. Well.. there's more than 6 billion people out there, and about 600,000 whales (Minke whales). Do the math.. One whales life is equal to about a 1000 human lives. I know this is extremist thinking but you have to use extremist measures to fight an extremist cause.
If someone pushed a political move to reinterpret the whaling-laws with tens of billions of dollars to back it up, there would be no need for these actions.. Sadly, no one seems to be really interested in that

Plus, a cheetah has to rely on its ability to run (eg. hunt) in order to survive. The warthog on the other hand is a rugged animal, built for mauling. In this clip, the warthogs had the upper hand and they used it. I hope no cheetahs got hurt tho

.. *sigh* what I meant was naturally, that the change in CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere effects a lot of different flora species as all life has evolved to be tolerant of only certain levels of different indicators, with a rigid set maximum and minimum before it will start dying out.. And since evolution is a very time-consuming phenomenon most species can not adapt to the rises of various such indicators, CO2 being one of them, in time and start going extinct.

#10 good point =)
Still, based on the expert opinion of the scientist in the video (that annual planetary energy requirement equals roughly 5,000 tons of thorium) and the estimates that there are about 1.66 million tons of accessible Thorium in the Earths crust (wiki) this would equal about 330 years worth of supply based on current energy consumption (which will surely keep climbing in the near future). For comparison, when oil was first discovered as an industrial resource, first estimates of its supply no doubt ranged to a comparable or even greater span and that still didn't stop mankind from absolutely monopolizing on it and start a first-come first-served race.

550. moskwiz commented 16 years ago on video Can time slow down?
I don't think that has to do with adreanaline but rather all the processes that growing up involves. As the brain develops firther, it has more and more things to do and calculate - a person keeps doing every task with much more concentration to it, thus time becomes seemingly shorter as you are now capable of more and more calculations per second, so to speak. When you're young you perseive world much more directly, and don't waste too much valuable time digesting all that info that you're perseiving. That's why I think younger people have 'more time'. Old people on the other hand experience the degradation of their inter-neuron connections - all the processes start to slow down and as the person is used to processing data thoroughly - processing the same amount of data takes longer.

I agree with #23 and #24 in the part that the mistreatment of animals is not punishable or as punishable as it should be. Animals are living creatures just like humans are and they definetly feel (many species much more vividly than man - think of how underdeveloped some of our senses are compared to say a cat or a dog). Animal ethics should definetly be taken more seriously.
However, this young playful cat is most certainly not subject to any animal torment and most probably is thoroughly enjoying that its owner is so vigorously playing with it ('it' because i don't know the cats sex) =)

Are you telling me that if the (a crude example) US government and army decided to start exterminating US civilians, then they could actually fend for themselves, because they have the ''liberty'' to carry firearms? This amendment might have had some reasonable basis to stand upon back in it's day when USA was still largely country-side, trouble with Natives or whatnot.. It is clear, right now this law is only making things worse for you guys...

and #14 .. I'm not American and I do not feed on Hamburgers, nor do i look like a whatever you called me
I just don't like to eat molluscs, crustaceans or insects and nematodes for that matter.. Eating rare species is just absurd in my view.. Mankind is doing way too much damage to the ecosystems of the world as it is without literally billions of people in the Far East obliterating all wildlife.. I understand that in the old times people had to eat whatever they could lay their hands on because there just wasn't any other foods available.. But in these days of advanced agriculture and other food sources I just find eating wild and rare animals to be an atavism that is really hurting the already over exploited and declining ecosystems.. Yes a lot of the people in the far east are not seeing a lot of the advanced agriculture as quality of life is still relatively low there, but Japan is definetly not among the countries that could still be taken as a 3rd world country..
Besides, it all tastes like chicken anyway right?
PS: I have to note that I do have a rather peculiar diet as I don't also eat cucumbers, rice, mushrooms..

Ok, so you've definetly got your story straight and I'm not going to get in a debate here, at least when regarding Vietnam and WWII..
But yeah, I am a "conspiracy theorist" as you would call it, as I do not tend to believe everything that is officially stated, I rather tend to question everything that was officially stated, and think of plots and ways why it would be better for whoever is stating something, to do so. I like to make my own conclusions. Because there is no truth, everything is an interpretation, and I hope I don't have to start explaining myself here.
Regarding 9/11, there are just so many questions that arise as a conclusion to investigating the whole matter..
In my mind, it's just not possible.. There are way too many shallow points in the official 911 report.. How can such a building with a solid steel infrastructure fall on itself at almost free-fall speeds after an airplane crashes into it? Let me remind you that
a) before 911 no steel infrastructural skyscraper had EVER collapsed because of a plane crashing into it,
b) the very architects of the building stated that the twin towers were designed to withstand exactly such attacks,
c) jet fuel does not burn nearly as hot as it would have had to be burning to melt the steel infrastructure on which the building was built
d) there were traces of Thermite, a patented explosive used in building demolitions found on the site
e) what the fuck happened to WTC building 7.. It just collapsed on itself?!?!?!?
f) there are many many people who claim to have witnessed explosions on different levels of the WTC buildings before the planes actually hit
g) How is it that a hijacked plane could even have made it to its destination, one of the biggest cities in the world, in the most powerful nation on Earth? What the hell was the air defense system NORAD doing?
etc. etc. etc.
None of these and a countless more questions that sound too ridiculous to even consider are absolutely not answered in the report..
I just use my logic to conclude that there is something clearly not right in all of this.
I'm not pointing to any people or organizations, I'm not saying the government did it, I'm saying that the government, in their report are covering something up..
I also use my logic to think that the government had to have a part in this because how else would it have been possible to organize such a grand scheme...
As for Bill Clinton, I wouldn't be all that sure about his story either.. For all we know the whole Lewinsky thing might have been a fairytale that was pushed because someone didn't like Clintons politics anymore..
911 happens, US invades Iraq.. I wonder what they're going to blow up next to get their hands on Iran
And that my friend, is honestly, what I see.. I'm not here just to piss you off..

1) Global climate is an immensely complex structure with virtually endless inter-related factors governing it and to rule out CO2 as a cause in the climate because recent studies show a vague negative correlation is absurd to say the least. Yes it's not the sole culprit but we definitely need to get it under control because growing concentrations threaten countless habitats and ecosystems. NO-particles and other greenhouse gases are as big a threat.
2) Global warming is a phrase used by the media and popular science to simplify climate change and its ecological basis and naturally there will always be people who will try to use that to their advantage but that's not my point.
3) My point is that at the preset stage we are too late to be debating over who is talking bullshit and who's trying to save the world. Mankind has had an immense negative effect on the Ecosphere, climate included and we need to start taking action now.
So you will pardon my somewhat overly aggressive response to your first post because for a moment there it seemed you were trying to debunk all our fears for the looming eco-crisis with a Washington Post article (a totally unbiased and independent publication I'm sure )

So you will pardon my somewhat overly aggressive response to your first post because for a moment there it seemed you were trying to debunk all our fears for the looming eco-crisis with a Washington Post article (a totally unbiased and independent publication I'm sure )

I had such a nice comment ready to reply to #11 #12 and #13 =/

I don't want to paint my own feathers as it were, but I am quite confident that #10 has got it quite wrong indeed and it is important that the public be objectively informed about these kinds of issues. Next to glass surfaces on buildings in cities (check out http://www.flap.org), the feral cat problem is surely if not the biggest then certainly a paramount threat to city-ecology. I can say this with confidence because a) check links above; b) I am a master student of Environmental Management; and c) because my City-Ecology course lecturer said so ^^ I would be glad to point him in your direction if you require more adequate and objective info on the matter.
Rant end.. Really was such a nice first reply I wrote and an absolute shame I couldn't share with you
PS - It really bothers me that people down-vote comments on snotr for completely ridiculous reasons.

Hit me up with some links then, to some hard science.. I'm not even debating who is right and who is wrong, I'm debating that the feral-cat issue in urban environments is a huge and critical threat to urban bird populations that needs public attention fast!

In case you haven't come across this, USAnumber1/Oldfart.. I sincerely recommend you catch this movie.. it's free and available in the internet.. Especially interesting is the second and third parts of the movie.. Happy watching!
And yeh.. if the invasion of Iraq wasn't for oil, what was it for then? Payback? I'm beginning to see a pattern here
Vietnam war: America entered the war after it had claimed that Vietnamese battleships (which were more like rowing boats with mounted machine guns) had opened fire on a US Destroyer in the Gulf of Tongking.. Several years later it was publically stated (in the US media) that no such thing actually ever took place.. it was a setup, because USA, the bringer of peace could never be an aggressor
WWII: Pearl Harbour.. The official statement, and what everyone seems to believe was that The Japanese Armada managed to "quietly creep up" to the most powerful nation in the world, and do a "surprise attack" on their naval base at Pearl Harbour.. In truth (or at least in truthfulness) the Japanese fleet was spotted by Australia and other Oceanic countries weeks before they would make it to the American coast.. Australia naturally reported this to the US but guess what.. US officals quieted that down, it wasn't in the news and so it happened that he attack on Pearl Harbour came from out of the blue..
Now I'm not going to say anything about 911 right now and just hope that You (USAnumber1) actually will watch the movie Zeitgeist.. but let me remind you a little ploy of how Hitler came to power: He had his own parliament building torched and the next day he publically announced that the damn freemasons have assaulted a government building.. What follows, i don't have to tell you.. but let's just say that after 60 000 000 people dead and a good 60 years passed the Swastika is still banned in most west european nations

Ok #15.. while you do have a minor point with that statement you are forgetting that Natural Selection is an Evolutionary term and cannot just be applied to any anthropogenic factor such as Man choosing to kill some animals and not kill others, especially if the realistic need to kill that animal has long since become redundant.
In the olden days whales provided much needed resources such as Whale Oil which was used for oil-lamps and to make soap etc. Further more, in the past, agricultural systems were much less advanced and there was a realistic need for more food, for which whales represented a logical means. These days though, we have advanced energetic systems, obsoleting the need for Whale Oil to be used, also in the advanced countries of the world there certainly is no shortage of food.
Hunting whale for food today is about as redundant as taking pills made out of the testicles of a Siberian Tiger to increase a man's sexual potent. It's an anachronism!
Regarding man being responsible for the extinctions of the above-mentioned species, yes, I am crying for all of them, so to speak and everyone who isn't is as stupid as they are ignorant. Firstly, if man was using a certain species as a resource, therefor the species was in a way useful to man, how is it by any means not a bad thing if the species is over-exhausted and becomes extinct, thus rendering the resource it represented unavailable forever? Secondly, you are not taking into account the absolutely devastating effect of a Man-induced extinction of a species to the biome, its' food-chain and the biodiversity. The law of biodiversity (put simply) states that the well being (its' parameters, mainly its buffer capabilities) of a biome is directly tied to the biological diversity of that biome in the sense of- the more diversity, the better the buffer capabilities.
Yes: Species go extinct by natural selection. But it takes usually a long-long time, millions of years, allowing the biomes it inhabited to counter-evolve to these changes. Natural extinction practically never occurs in the logic- there is species x, now there isn't one. It occurs as- there is a species x, now there is a species y. So the extinction parameters of a natural vs. a man-induced extinction are not comparable, they are different ecological concepts. I say again- a natural extinction isn't necessarily a bad thing for the biome- it just represents change; a man-induced extinction however, is always bad for the biome as it diminishes the biodiversity of the biome.
And don't even get me started on the free-market forces that have been FUCKING THIS PLANET UP for over a hundred years now!

#10 .. you know you really should watch zeitgeist.. it's just a shortcut to all the counter-arguments of the official 911 report
Jet-fuel doesn't burn as hot as to melt steel Even if it had, it wouldn't have resulted in a free-fall demolition of BOTH the buildings AND the WT7 building which didn't even get a plane in it and which was reported as to have fallen down BEFORE it actually fell (there's BBC live coverage as video proof for that argument)
There is no truth though.. it's all interpretation

#21 .. After 911 the US government implemented the whole terrorist threat act, NSA got to real power.. taxes were raised in order to fund the massive war on terror.. it resulted in an outrageous sum of money for the government and a war.. and you know what they say.. when the economy is failing, have a little war or two.. helps every time.
These kinds of false flag operations are nothing new in the history of war, even USA has done this before (Vietnam, Pearl Harbor).. Hitler came to power in exactly the same way as 911 was orchestrated.. First he set fire to the government building in Berlin (analog: 911 comes down), then he accused the damn freemasons and jewish conspirators of doing it (analog: US blames 'The Terrorists'), and then he rises to power resulting in the greatest massacre of human life in the history of mankind (analog: multi-billion dollar show 'The War On Terror' initiates, US invades Iraq etc.).. So. nothing new in this world..
#(removed comment) .. I agree with #18 on this, if the whole thing had come down because of the steel infrastructure buckling and deforming, it would not have fallen over so synchronously.. the plane(s) hit only one side of the building and definitely did not apply the same amount of explosive force (and extreme heat) to the whole are of the few floors. Surely you can not argue that the point of impact would have gotten the most of the 'extreme heat' and would have had to topple over first..
You are just so damn afraid to stop lying to yourself, open your eyes and forget about your nationality and patriotism for one moment and just start to question what the Mainstream Media is telling you.. you're not a dumb man, THINK ABOUT IT.
This 911 thing is hard to reach US people because most of them are just so naive and ignorant when it comes to their own country that they simply can not even fathom that their great country could do things like this.. And that is the only difference between USA and other superpowers of the last decades.. The communists used iron fists and curtains and Siberia to make people obey, USA uses patriotism, McDonalds, The American Dream and Mainstream Media...

#(removed comment) As you can clearly see this secret has not stayed a secret for this long.. It has been talked about for many years already and it's becoming more and more obvious. Tens of thousands of people are actively investigating what really happened, these include many a professional engineer and architect.. You can't deny that this is not just a mere conspiracy theory anymore.. It's clear at this point, that there is a lot being shushed away and the real story had been covered up. If you vest enough time and get on-par with the info you just can't deny that.
Now forget you're an American for 2 hours and watch the 13 videos posted on youtube (something tells me you still haven't) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVieTN4BeHQ&feature=related
#41 no it is not. I'm willing to bet that in a few years (if not ten, or twenty) we will all be set straight on this topic and it will change the way we look up on how the world works completely..

You know I have dealt with this subject too much to start telling you about all the little nudges that make all of the events surrounding 911 look like a 10-point hint as to it all being a plan to invade Iraq and then some
However it's all common knowledge, public data etc..
Seriously, watch Zeitgeist, watch Empire Of the City.. you could even check out some of Alex Jones' publishings on this subject.. If you open your eyes wide enough to see the big picture you will see that in order for all that happened to be a series of unfortunate events or mere coincidence, would be a chance of say a trillion to one or so
As for bush.. Naturally i meant whoever actually Runs your great country, not Bush or Clinton or Obama Although Bush's admin. really was a bunch of hoodlems
PS- no steel-frame building in the history of mankind had ever fallen over from planes crashing into them before 911

#(removed comment) No the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.. However the incident was so to speak induced by US itself, using boycotts and other economical and political action to thoroughly piss Japan off. Finally Japan was fooled into thinking (granted, at that time Japan was pretty easy to fool into things.. they were unbelievably hell-bent on war) they could actually pull off a maritime offensive on the US so they set off from Japan. What makes all this weird, is that pretty much all the coastal nations that the Japanese Armada passed on their way to America, saw the Armada and sent out warning signals to the US which the US IGNORED?!??! Fact of the matter is USA needed to enter WWII and this incident would allow them to do just that without being the aggressors..
As for 911, sure it required a lot of planning out and working on the buildings, but since the security measures could have easily been bought off or even be in on it themselves, I don't see why that would significantly make any difference as to what actually happened. I also stand by what I said in my earlier post - to assume that both buildings caved in on themselves pretty much exactly in the same manner, without there actually being a concrete reason for them to do so, because planes crashed into them, conveniently imploding so that the surrounding buildings suffered minimal damage compared to what might have happened - to assume all this (and a ton of other things I'm not telling you to save time) is just naive.. Moreover, what about WTC7?!? What about NORAD?!?!? What about the Pentagon and the mysterious disappearance of all surveillance cameras at the time of the crash?!?!?!? Usually when something like this happens, at best there is few to no amateur civilian phone-camera footage of the scene.. On 911's case though, out of mere coincidence, there just happened to be half a dozen news helicopters in the air, reporter-crews running around all over the place, news studios built with the background view exactly on the scene of the crash etc.
The twin towers were in fact designed with exactly this scenario in the original blueprints - so that the buildings would not collapse in case of an airliner (or two) crashing into them - say the actual architects of the complex.
btw, whoever is running USA is not naive or ignorant, in fact their a bunch of masterminds.. I'm talking about the average citizen being so incredibly numbed-down on cheap entertainment that they wouldn't even care to question what they were told if a plane crashed into one of them big towers in NY... US citizens are superslaves.. they have been brought up in a way where they actually want to do and think what they are being ordered to.. Only difference between USSR or China is that the US citizens don't themselves know that they are being oppressed by their own government.. This is happening in Western Europe also btw
Edit: #37 Absolutely right, I apologize.. I tend to over-generalize things sometimes.. As there are stupid people in any country, so are there smart ones. Level of intelligence does not recognize nationalities
