It's either deadly or not... It can't be "more" deadly!
Also the best nerve agent is the T-virus.
Am I the only one that finds it funny how the country that has the largest supply of VX (enough to kill the entire planet) is the country that is paranoid about it?

#7 Just like you have to trust the former Soviet Union countries not to make use of their huge stockpiles of VX and other WMD's.
The bigger problem is how many of those weapons were sold on the black market by former Soviet military officers who had access to the weapons and were looking to get rich.

#2 No weapons of mass destruction were found because Saddam sent it all to Syria. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_Sada
Why do you think we are so worried about Assad going chemical on his people in Syria right now? He has all of Saddam's old stockpiles.

#12 Very true. Satellite imagery from the months before the allied invasion showed convoys of large trucks heading out of Iraq into Syria. Some of Saddam's former generals have testified to the fact that WMD's were trucked and/or flown to Syria.
We know Saddam used chemical weapons on the Kurds, his own people.
Isn't it interesting though, that it was the Germans who first thought to fight wars with chemical weapons.

French people also has had chemical weapons, starting in Word War I. There are still today some old military dumps in France which are leaking, killing or hurting some guys in caves few years ago, in 1995 and 2005.
French authorities denied this story of chemical weapons leaking, but there are strong presumptions for it, any people living in France for a long time knows there are still scars (military dumps, old battle places not completely cleaned, old bombs forgotten...) of the two Word Wars. It's impossible to clean everything. This is not making France more dangerous than another place in Europe and not every remains of these wars are dangerous, but it's a constant reminder of the sad past.

I'm not sure you may find something accurate from serious websites in english on the subject of these accidents in France, I mean not schizo-paranoid-usually lying.

#10 I think you can tell that with a spectrometer? Or something that sounds like spectrometer. I've seen a device that does sniff stuff at airports. It smells luggage for drugs and other kinds of stuff. Most of what it smells doesnt smell to us. So basically you can measure smell.
I bet there is someone around snotr who can clarify my explanation a bit more. But i know what you mean with your statement. Its a bit strange.
What i was wondering about is: How do they make this stuff harmless in the future? How is it destroyed. Or do they let is stay there in barrels for ever?
Would the leak it out intoo clean air then? Ofcourse without people around. And what about it then? Can it disolve to something harmless?
Alot of questions!!!!!

#17 You can burn it to dispose of it. That is a big concern from the weapon makers standpoint. They put the chemical into shells which explode. But the explosion is a fire and it incinerates most of the VX payload.
#12 The Germans were the first to not allow themselves to be held back by ethics in using gaseous chemicals delivered using artillery in war. They were far from the first to think of using chemical weapons. The history of chemical and biological warfare goes as far back as the Greeks at least.

#15 "Germans were quite ahead of time when it came constructing warfare weaponry. Quite shocking what they could have accomplished if Hitler wasn't the man he was. Could have been so much worse..."
Sounds like you are proud of Hitler for being such a great man and not killing even more millions of people. You are German, right?

Ignorance rears its ugly head again........agent orange was used as a vegetation defoliant; not used as a weapon against humans.

#26 hmm...wiki says something else..but maybe its not true..i wasnt there..
"Agent Orange is the combination of the code names for Herbicide Orange (HO) and Agent LNX, one of the herbicides and defoliants used by the U.S. military as part of its chemical warfare program, Operation Ranch Hand, during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1971. Vietnam estimates 400,000 people were killed or maimed, and 500,000 children born with birth defects as a result of its use.[1] The Red Cross of Vietnam estimates that up to 1 million people are disabled or have health problems due to Agent Orange"
Not directly targeted against humans..but it was clear what will happen and what the effects to humans are.

#26 your ignorance rears its ugly head this time, agent orange was used as a vegetation defoliant, yeah right, when your gouverment sais justin bieber is an alien you probably would believe it to ( oh well, in that case they might be right ) first it was used as a vegetation defoliant but when they found out it had results against the vietnamese people they started to use it more often instead of stopping to use it, so in the time of the vietnam war the US was as guitly using chemical warfare as the germans where in the world wars

#30 Oh, what kind of problems? Does that necessarily preclude cooperation against the US? Relations between nations are many layered. Whatever problems Syria had with Sadaam could have been conceivably be set aside in the interest of reducing American interference in the Middle East. Don't forget that both Assad and Saddam are Baathists. Sadaam knew he couldn't stop the invasion by the US so he did the next best thing and took away our justification for it and planned an insurrection for resisting the occupation. He actually played the game pretty well. He didn't win of course but he maximized the cost to the US. As I understand the scenario he mobilized both the Sunnis and the Shiites against the US. However in such an unstable situation it was too dangerous to leave the chemical weapons in play so he would have convinced Syria to safeguard them and it was in Syria's best interest to do so.
If you have a different understanding of what happened I would be interested to hear about it. However a single line like "Syria had problems with Sadaam at all times" isn't going to cut it as evidence or as making a case.
