The real question is if you want to be successful or happy? Because if you are happy, you succeeded the most important thing in life.

he points out, that you shouldnt just name the things you want from life. he makes it absolutley clear, that if you raise the bar up, you can get there, but you need to sacrifice other freedoms.
but you CAN get there.
he never said, you have to go this way. you can of course do what ever is the most simple path and feel happy about other things.
i agree.
well for some goals, i guess you need to be living in a country where you can live self-determined.

Be happy and successful, is not for everyone.
With a little luck, you have one of the two options.

That and performance enhancement drugs will get you success if you don't have the talent. Be true to yourself and you'll be happy. Recognize success by setting and accomplishing realistic goals. Not everyone is going to play professional sports, be a doctor, and God forbid an attorney, etc.

As someone who's been working on a prototype of a game for the past month, often missing meals and sleep in order to submit it tomorrow as the final application to my dream job in my dream place... yea, I was crying like a baby by the end of it x'D

I always "hated" sports. I know it's not about the sports but i am not a great friend of working hard either. When something really takes my enthusiasm i do not have the feeling i am working hard.
Success and failure are words of an old way of thinking which is measured mostly by the amount of money and/or other wealth. It's destructive and worthless. It does not bring humanity further. The speaker does not talk about any real values so i guess he is or is going to be in politics sooner or later. Big words, no content.

Sorry to be 'that' guy but the inspirational statement at the very beginning contains a spelling mistake so utterly ridiculous and blatant that it really spoils the point that is being made.
