the fireworks aculy have a purpose its incase it gets a missle shot at it, because the C-130 is a larger aircraft and cant turn on a dime it needs a way of protecting its self, its called Chaft, but it makes the missle go crazy and hit the fireworks instead of the plane.

That's the truth, actually, helis and many, if not all, planes use it. It is, by no know mean, just cool, it's for own safety

Chaff is composed of aluminum shreds that can be set on fire and generates serious amounts of heat, decoying tha incoming missiles...it's not a flare on it's own...

Chaff is composed of aluminum and is used as a radar decoy, for radar guided missles.
Flares are usually composed of magnesium or another hot burning metal and used as a countermeasure to heat seaking missles.

i think the plane speed is too slow even if it successfully dodge the missile, it still get the damage from the impact... ![]()
