The most popular deja-vu theory is that the brain mistakes perception with memory. That's why we can't predict what's going to happen, instead have the feeling it already happened after it happened. Deja-vu's are hard to study, because they occur randomly, however epileptics are prone to them, so if you experience a lot of deja-vu's, you better consult a medic.

Major parts of the TV series Fringe are based on these things. Special devices were supposed to force parts of two worlds to synchronize with each other in order to build a bridge... Other shows and literature are also based on this.

As far as I know a deja vu is sort of a memory glitch. Usually everything we experience goes into short term memory and only if judged "important" goes into long term memory. A deja vu is an experience that is falsely stored instantly into long term memory. So the moment of actual experience seems like the exact copy of something we think to remember from the past.

The main issue with his explanation is that it's a string theory explanation (strings, vibrations, etc.). The proof of existence of the Higgs field (and Boson) renders the only advantage that string theory had over the standard model which is that of explaining mass of elementary particle in free space. So, in other words, string theory doesn't bring any additional understanding to the equation than the standard model (along with the Higgs fields and boson). And therefore, string theory may not actually correctly explain our universe (but it may as well).

I would love to experience deja vu but i cant remember what it is...My memory is Great.. just kinda short !!
