I would've thought that your lights would just go off when there's a car coming at you and you're stuck behind another one. That would be more German if you ask me

Somehow all this 'lights show' going on and off will distract me if I am in the car in the front. Even though it might not be glaring at me, but I know will be distracting and I will be like, 'what's up with the headlights of the car behind me...' and BAM! I will hit something on the road being distracted by this 'intelligent light show' going on behind me.

Really cool stuff,it can be really difficult and distracting when driving on a fast road at night with medium trafic, having to constantly switch from low to long lights.
This eliminates that problem which is great, cause the less stuff for the driver to touch while driving the better.

Cool concept, but with the lights moving independently like that, one might assume it was a couple of motorcycles. Could make it seem as though one of the "cycles" was about to pass or something.
Also, it seems it would be very distracting, esp to any unaware motorists, but idk. Maybe I'm just getting too old and set in the comfort of my ways, lol.
I am a little on edge though, with something designed for safety making me question if its a safety risk or not.

Does this tech adapt to which side of the road your driving on automagically? Like, if I drive from France to England, will the right beam stay on all the time, instead of the left one? Also, how does it react when the person in front makes a sharp right turn? Does it switch off?

Whatever your views as to how useful or distracting this is...you have to admit... there's some good thinking behind it

#18 Nope..you just press a button and they become usual headlights..its a feature..not a standart
#16 I dont think the lights are way more expensive then normal headlights..there is not much extra tech in it..just small motors to move the lights..the rest comes from the controller cpu and camera wich is not inbuild in the light itself

#17 The switch was in the whiskers, convenient location for it..
#20 I think it was the americanos that made the first automaticly switching headlights in the early 60s... It isn't about laziness, i've always hated that couple of seconds of total blindness, with these you can see the right side markers better.
Don't know how well these work in the snow as it reflects high beams quite well. As a concept, i approve.

NO BMW driver will keep that distance when coming up behind a car at night! They think they own the roads!
