Clever and simple concept: Investor sets up billboards, rents out the advertising space to clients, people get free water, advertisers reach a guaranteed audience, people don't have to waste time/money finding drinking water, hence they are more likely to be able to afford the advertized products/services.
Everybody wins.

I wonder if they are efficient enough to remain profitable with rising energy costs or if they could be powered by local solar alone.

#2 i dont know how much power it needs but im pretty sure i will be self sufficient or does not need much power wich can get out of wind and solar..else nobody would invest in it. Im really hoping that this will be one of our future "sollutions"

"They could". Indeed that is the keyword. In the end it's all about money. That's why it'll never happen. It's just too expensive. When it all comes around people care more about money than lives.

#2 There are ways of getting water out of the air without using energy at all. Inspired by the Namib desert beetle scientists invented a bottle that fills itself.

Nice idea but I don't think it's cost effective in a village, where the poor live, they won't buy consumer goods or services advertised. Probably cheaper to dig a well or set up a filtration systems.

Skeptical third world kid: So you're telling me that you take water and put chemicals in it and spray it on your crops.

So the average family uses far less than 30 l of water per month?

This total BULL. First of all the amount is a lie. T That is only enough drinking water for 35 people. Not even remotely close to "hundreds of families". The total cost of it would provide 1000X more water in tankers,or enough to drill several deep wells that would supply years of water. Another feel good load of crap likely funded by MY tax dollar!!!
