Who wants to bet that people will start bringing a backup phone to cheat with on the bathroom if this turns into a bar standard... guaranteed

That was some pro skills filling a glass of beer.

#4 That would miss the point though. If you consider bringing a piece of wood to the bar in this scenario, the last thing you're worried about is social stigma.

In that case, for all I care you might as well bring your own glass - or even better, bring your own beer.

cool idea. however no one would like to put their 400-800$ phones below a dropping, spilling beer glas. look at 0:53 :D

#8 this was exactly my first thought too. I support this sweet idea. But it's plain horrible in reality. Just think of all those soaked coasters... don't you dare use my phone that way.

A better solution: Don't hang out with people who are so rude as to give their phone more attention than you.

What's so wrong with being on your cellphone? If one person in company doesn't like the fact the other person is on their phone, then thats a problem for those two people to resolve, and not the bar's problem. If someone you're with would rather be on their phone than speak with you, perhaps you should ask yourself why.

Cellphones are just another evolution of material goods, that change how we interract and communicate. The invention of the television, e-mail, printed books, fixed-line telephones, etc, etc all changed how we interract and communicate. Deal with it, or change it. But don't just moan about it.

To save the world (or at least the current generation of it) someone needs to invent air that you can only breath when you are not on Facebook or Twitter!! How many wasted man hours man.....
