And for my next trick I'll wipe out a village of innocents before they even hear me coming. Woo Hoo!!
For a majority of the world's population this display represents evil minds and a disgusting misuse of resources.

Still, wouldn't you have more fun with a plane that could land vertical AND fly like a normal jet?
As a civilian I would appreciate landing the plane in my own driveway more than worrying about Russia seeing me on their radar..

What is the mission for this aircraft..? Fighter, bomber, close air support..? Or all the above....BTW, the falling leaf maneuver has been around since WW1 with the biplanes...
VTOL ( vertical take-off and landing ) has been around since 1954. Too late for Korea, and still undeveloped 10 years later for Viet Nam. The Brits finally used them in the Falklands war during the 80's. The Marines are finally getting the VTOL Osprey, a multi-purpose aircraft that carries troops, extracts wounded, delivers bombs, and provides close air support. Semper Fi....

The only way I would compare the Mig-35 and F-22 is in a REAL dog fight.

A - What you see in the video is only a portion of what the AC can do, you're watching video from open-to-the-public airshows.
B - Yes, what you see resembles maneuvers performed by propeller AC since the 1940s, but not performed by huge, heavy supersonic jet AC flying at the same speed as the WWII propeller AC.
C - Vectored-thrust is nice for those once every three decade dogfights, supercruise and sensor fusion are what wins the day.
D - Fergus - it's called "peace through superior firepower" - get used to it.

@ #1 aqua you must mean the MiG-29 and MiG-31 .. they also have a manouver that the F-22 makes half a few times .. like the 90 degree angle thingy but thr mig's can switch back 90 degree.. maybe the F-22 can do that too .. but i dont know.
i think that the F22 is the best looking fighter plane havent seen the newest ..i just like the shapes and how they worked away the engines..

2. Fun? Yes. But would still have more fun with the VTOL version of the F-35.. (VTOL over Stealth anyday of the week)
3. Fire some missiles or something!
