Makes me wonder how many of those switches have been eliminated in newer models, in favor of automated diagnostics and the like.

After the pilots started up the plane they'll still sit on the runway for at least 2 hours before taking off! >:)

This video is nice. Next time a friend claims they can fly a plane, I'll check their knowledge against this video, and bust their balls.

Got it. Press all the buttons and flick all the switches. Much easier than turning on a woman then!!

they could start 10 times faster but since they are responsible for hundreds of people, they have to check any system. may it be warning systems, support systems, backup systems or main controlls

If I were to become a pilot, I'd fail on starting the plane, let alone the flying test. :D

So that's the Cd tracks sorted, cabin temperature set at 'nice' and the Dvd programmed to record Eastenders and Coro for the next week. Now where's that button that starts this plane? :*

Do you mean its not like the movies where you flip a couple of switches and you're and taking off as the earth crumbling beneath you within 2 minutes. :)
