It's atrocious, doesn't fit the genre at all. Reminds me of the asinine attempts at Classical + Disco in the 70s.

The drums are to much in the front of the audio picture, they should have been half to a whole a decibel lower. And i do get the feeling the drums are just a tad halting, seems he is barely pulling it off, just managing to follow the writes. It could have been better tbh, even tho it was amusing.

Not a 5 seconds have past since the beginning of the drumming and I've already upvoted the video. :D

#4 Yes, drums are a bit loud, but he is pulling it nicely. I'm surprised how well in place they sound - A bit odd to hear them with orchestra, but just after few second everything feels right. Very well played.
#6 10 seconds for me ;)

It's the kind of assholes like #3 and #5 that make kids hate classical music. F'ing uptight music elitists...

Well, he's no Mike Mangini, but not too bad.

#4, yeah, way too forward, but a .5 dB change would be almost imperceptible. More like 2-3dB less. But I think this has more to do with how the drums were compressed and processed compared to the orchestra. The drums are obviously close mic'd and there is absolutely no space to the drums, whereas the orchestra is quite reverberant. Well played, just not well mixed.

#14. makes me wonder if the drummer makes the conductor redundant in this case. :S
and I agree that the drums and overall mix is not done right. I wouldve preferred staccato strings

I personally hate it. Destroys the music. I like the idea, but the drummer, the plates and the drum kind, in my opinion makes it metal like. And for me that is the only genre I don't like. It sound like good beautiful music and some Awful drumming. I would be interested how, for example those hand drums or tongue drums would sound. And those plates - pf..

I enjoyed it, but he's a bit of a show-off. Like to see Ginger Baker have a run at it.
