This is why you need CPU cooling
See what happens when you remove the CPU cooler while playing Quake 3 ![]()

I dont see myself removing the heat sync and fan while playing or ever. I guess ppl with Intel are like, "Dude, watch this" and then they yank it out and say, "Dude, It stopped the program." Wow.
haha heho

do u guys notice the cpu fan for pentium 4?? try to see it... when they removed it, the game became lag... but when the put it back, the game directly become normal again, try to see the fan when they put it back, it didn't switch on... it didn't move.... see carefully.... ![]()
That video is a fake. Those amd cpu's are crashed before test...
Why should I participate in a commercial war between Intel and Amd?
Go hell, mr. Tomhardware.
AMD runs more hot because it's better than Intel, maybe now they got core duo out but I can't wait to see amd's next move. Go AMD!
In my experienc, back since my AMD k-6(2) 266mhz processor vs. Intel's Pentium II 233mhz processor, my AMD's have always ran ~8-10*F hotter. My current Pentium 4/2.8Ghz runs 15*F cooler than my parents' AMD Athlon XP 1800(I think it is) at around 1.9-2.0Ghz.
Guys, you do realize they did this back in the days when Intel introduced Speedstepping and AMD had nothing like it, right?
This one is actually more spectacular:

Yeah, they really wanted this to happen.
Here is the Intel Version:

;-)
the pentium 4 fan wasnt even on when he put it back on, so the game magically got back to normal... makes me think this is fake
If you're an idiot, don't talk.
So what if the fan's not on? The heatsink still leads heat away from the CPU. The fan's just there to help cool down the heatsink. Back in the day, CPU heatsinks didn't have fans at all.
ye... amd's get really hot... but, tbh my new Pentium Dual-core has really high temperature problems too :/

AMD processors get so hot.
