#(removed comment) all mammals have the brain center for compassion, cooperation and social interactions (read up on brain evolution). A mammal can be your friend, or at least, acknowledges you as beneficial or harmless to his cause. Snakes for pets, on the other hand, is a misled and dangerous idea.

Additionally, most predators (especially cats) only hunt on instinct when they are hungry. This lion already knows this guy, and thus doesn't consider him a food source. And even a totally wild lion wouldn't harm you if he's full and if you aren't acting like an ass. Even more, predator instinct is reinforced by the prey running away. Turn toward your attacker, and you have a fair chance of making him go "wtf" and reconsider his decision.

Zoo owner, to new keeper, ‘You idiot. You left the door to the lions’ cage open all night.’ Keeper, ‘So what? Who’s going to steal a lion?’

Additionally, because these lions aren't locked in a cage and are not circus animals, they haven't developed a hatred for humans, in general.

Eventually, the GoPro slogan is going to get a lot of people killed.

Should be "Don't be a hero - unless you know what you're doing."

"search for kevin richardson here on snotr if you like.."
No thanks. Not interested.

"we got 4 other vids of him. "
No surprise there then.

"Sure..maybe he will be killed by lions someday in the future.."
At least we agree on that.

"but at least then he died doing something he loved"
In his final moments of being eaten alive by a big cat no doubt he'll garner enormous comfort from that thought.

"and he knew the dangers"
I don't think he fully realises how much danger he is really in.

"..just like steve irvin"
Yeah just like Steve Irwin. A Twat.

Moral of the story. Get yourself a GoPro and you can pet yourself a wild lion without any danger. I wonder if they do a money back guarantee!! ?

Steve Irwin was one man with confidence to be a friend with wild animals. But what happened with him?

#11 I'll be more afraid of a Tax Collector than a lion; at least I know that a lion won't kill you if he/she is full, but a tax collector will never stop collecting ;-)
