Actually that made me hungry. I actually recommend tin cans more than preservation / conservation chemicals.

I have a tin of hot dogs in brine in my basement dating back to the late 60s / early 70s. The tin is still sealed and you can hear stuff sloshing around. I am half tempted to open that to see what's inside. On the other hand maybe I should keep it for a zombie apocalypse.

A world in which that "food" is all there is left to eat is not a world I want to live in anymore... zombie apocalypse or not.

#4 Dave, I'd suggest keeping it for a Zombie Apocalypse. Open it, rub it on yourself, and I'm sure the Zombies will move right along... job done!

Perhaps in 1945 that's what food tasted like, in the military anyway lol.
