I can remember watching my father in law ( blacksmith & Farrier ) making most of those by hand...then to see them being turned out by machine like that ...wow!

I myself find old buildings like cathedrals more impressive than most modern buildings. Even professionals today struggle to understand the impressive feats. But I still enjoy to watch modern machinery...

There were a lot of references to 'Make your own' Not sure it would be cost effective to buy all that equipment to make your own anything :(

I'm sure you could enploy an actual blacksmith for a fair amount of time for the cost of one of those machines, not to mention the maintenance.
