Well i don't understand the point of those videos, maybe if someone has a 110/220V to 2000V converter at home :p ...

#3: have you never been a child?
#4: Not an LCD. The principle of operation is completely different and essential for this experiment.

#5 : Eventually I've been. But as my parents didn't have money, I was told not to brake things for fun but enjoy them till they last.

Ok , First

Plasma and LCD are completely different , LCD requires backlighting weather it be LED or CCFL its a back lit screen.

In plasma Every single little pixel is a little cell covered in a phosphor that lights when excited by high voltage, which is why we see white screen as he has exciting every pixel red green and blue at the same time.

Second , and this is for #3 , you do , he even said it , hes using a microwave oven transformer that put out 2kw to power the magnetron.

And last but not least , these tv's have a lot of non user serviceable parts inside , like flat flex cables that can not be bought , custom ic's that are programmed at factory and you cant just make a copy of them unless you happen to have 1000$'s of dollars of ecumenist around.

In other words some times if its broken its broken and the best thing to do is at least get some enjoyment out of it before it goes to the bin !

Hmm, is this the next phase of "will it blend"?
