I guess we're not that far off from seeing restaurants run without humans at all. The future... seems like a lovely place for the unemployed worker.

#2, Japan is a special case : there are facing a population decline and are not willing to adapt their strict immigration policy to compensation the loss.

Japan needs to find solution for replacing human workers. That's why they are one of the leading country in robotics.


Anyway I still prefer human contact that a screen to place my orders….

Hmm, running sushi price on per-plate basis? I get "all you can eat" in places I visit ;). Anyway, it's more about that you can pick your bite, not about "you can eat like being hungry for 2 weeks"... ;)

#7 that's actually a traditional and very convenient way of pricing sushi. Most places have a fixed price per plate (say, 120 yen each) and some places have plates with different colors and/or patterns that then have different prices. "All you can eat" is often not very economical - except for Americans who eat until they nearly burst.
