While I agree more police like this would be a good thing, it would also mean that no one gets caught speeding, meaning everyone would speed more freely, and this coming from a biker haha. Vicious circles.

The COOLEST cop was the one who pulled over a lady friend of mine one morning, she was just cruising' along, singing to songs on the radio when she noticed the little blue lights in her rear view mirror, when she stopped and he came to talk to her he spotted her wheelchair in the back of the car. 'Do you know how fast your we're going madam'? well...not really' she said, 'Madam! I had to drive at 137 mph to catch you'!...she looked up, and not thinking about what she was saying replied...'don't you know its dangerous to drive that fast'?. He laughed so much he let her off. (true story...I was asleep in the passenger seat ...until he stopped us.)

Not all cops are jerks. I've been pulled over 6 times for speeding in 26 years of driving. Got two tickets, one of them he reduced from 14 over to 5 over. The other 4 let me go. I think it was cause I was cool with them and made them laugh. It's all in how you treat them. They have a job to do. If they pull you over because you were speeding (or whatever) don't give them an attitude like they are doing something wrong. Just be cool, try to make them laugh, and from my experience they will be cool in return.

Cops are lenient on rich kids, period. If it'd been a black kid in a beater, his ass would've been on the pavement. The rich rule, the poor get to suck on it.

#3 I disagree with you completely. See, with this type of a cop, speeding a bit ("a bit" as in 3 to 4 units/per hour) over the limit without putting anyone in danger is no big deal, he'll stop you just to put you in your right mind. But go a little too fast and he'll fry your as*.

#11 The cops ask you questions like that to see if you are being deceptive. They use your answers to determin if you are hiding something.
If you have a trunk full of drugs, you are most likely to be deceptive with them in regards to where you are going and where you are coming from.
My experience with the cops has been much the same as #6. People need to remember that they are just doing their jobs and if you are going over the posted limit, you shouldn't be angry when they pull you over and give you a ticket because we all know what the speed limit is and we all know what happens if we get caught speeding.
Being respectful to them can often save you time and $$.
Cheers.

Not all cops are dickheards!
When I was 24 years old I got stopped going 86 km/h in a 70 km/h zone, and the cop did ask me if I owned the brand new Audi I was driving, and when I said yes, the Norwegian(!) (old) cop actually uttered the word "Nice!"..

#11 Whats so bad about it? I guess all cops ask where you come from and where you going..thats a standart question. And you are free to refuse the answer..but that will make you a little suspicious. And i dont think the cop really cares where you going as long as you just answer..its not that he wants to stalk you then. =)
#14 Totally agree..they just do their job. You get what you give. (Sure on the media you only see the black sheeps, but cops are 95% nice guys in my experience..annoying to deal with when its your fault but correct guys)
