Now it's clear for me why i don't like cats...
You feed the cat and take care and all and in return the cat goes:"i'm pretty sure i saw this face somewhere"

I know they may not really like you as a person, but a cat still huddles up on you on the couch or something like that, which is nice.

I never understood why people always bring this up when saying dogs are better. You just want an easy way out. Cats and dogs can't be compared directly, they are different. A dog is attached to you like a child - or a gullible and very forgiving companion. A cat is more like a roommate. You live together, but they are independent, you just coexist and try to benefit the most from the other. But that's not a bad thing either. It's actually more realistic - relationships are hard and you must constantly do stuff for people that don't appreciate it - parents of teenagers will agree with me here. But that doesn't mean you should say teenagers (or even hard to please partners) should be replaced with dogs.

Cats are a challenge. Dogs are an easy way out.

However, if you are insecure and need to feel loved and wanted, don't get a cat :)

Anybody who has ever "had" a cat could have told them this, and the reason as to why is very simple to explain, cat's don't have OWNERS they have STAFF.

What a crap test. With the baby and the dogs, there was no interaction with the stranger when the "familiar face" come back in the room. The stranger was playing with the cat when the owner returned.

With cats its much more hit or miss. My former cat would have displayed attachment, at least on par with the dog, but my current cat... Not so much.
Damn I miss that cat. :\

First of all... stop dangling stuff in front of the cat, and second of all my dog would have played with the stranger for hours, he is very social.

PS: I do have cats and dogs.

but the downside to this for the animal ie dog..If you the owner dies..so does the dog. As it cannot now survive in the wild...Cats do...but we are not a cats owner just it guardian. see dog video posted a few days ago. http://www.snotr.com/video/12470/A_homeless_dog_living_in_a_trash_pile_gets_rescued__and_then_does_something_amazing

Cats are descendant from solitary animals like leopard, puma etc.

Dogs are pack animals, they think you (the owner) is a member of the pack.

And cats and dogs are not babies. So that's totally redundant.

And yea what #6 said.

#15 At least until, as #16 hinted at, the dog becomes part of a pack:
