#1 what we really should do is think everyday, how to get ppl off the streets, how to deal with drug issues, how to integrate them, how to make sure that they wouldnt ever land on the streets.
that needs willpower. money. politics. respect and time.
all those cudddle videos where people want to get cheered up for handing some homeless guys water and socks.. its not original anymore. if they can effort it, i would love seeing them starting crowd funding campaigns that we all can support.
here in my country we basically have no homeless guys at all. however i would support the right methods in other countries anytime.

This is their choice. Most of those people are able-bodied, but they do not want to find a job.

This notion that giving a bottle of water, some gatorade, socks and you're done for the year is just sick.
The moment they decided to film the deed and play it all over the net, it started to feel like a transaction "I give you a donation and you give me lots of thumbs up".
Ideally... charity is anonymous.
But I realise that sometimes this is not possible especially when donations has to be delivered in person.
You really want to help, just go 2 doors down and help the old lady that no one talks to, abandoned and neglected by her family, and living alone. Wash the dishes, do her laundry, and stock the fridge. And hell No, your life is not that busy, you can find a couple of hours a week.
#1 & #3 said it well. There are a better ways to help the homeless by fixing the root causes.

#4 Although i agree with you, it is not always that simple. First of all, they don't have a shelter to leave their belongings in a safe place when they work. Then, when they get to an employer without a bath and dirty clothes they will get turned down at first sight. Then, when they manage to get an interview, they don't have proper documents with them that identify them to work. Although all of these are my speculations, we don't really know until we have been in their shoes.

I hate when people say things like "It's their choice","You're not forced into anything, it's a free country". I don't think any sane person would choose to pick their lunch from a trash bin or sleep on concrete.
#6 As long there is money worshiping mentality there will be no change. Trying to help less fortunate people? Absolutely! But in the long run it won't make a difference.

#9 COME ON MAN.... A negative attitude will never make a difference bro.. It took someone who gave a shit, to change me and my bad ways, sometimes, it is just a random act of kindness that will make ONE person see the light !! Faith, Love and Hope is what makes up who we are !! Dont forget that we are all created equally.
