I appreciate the effort, but there has been too many times where I was almost hit by an old person behind the wheel at a crosswalk. If that hadn't been me but someone who was unable to jump out of the way at the last second, things would have ended much worse.
You don't notice how often this happens unless you have a crosswalk right at your doorstep, like I did growing up at my parents house.
If you barely have the strength to raise your arms high enough to hold the steering wheel, you should not be operating a motor vehicle - end of discussion. You are basically operating something as dangerous as an automatic machine gun in terms of the ability to hurt or end human life. At least irresponsible teens usually only kill themselves and their passengers. Seniors run their cars into crowds of people, hit pedestrians, cyclists (happened with my grandma a few years ago) and run red lights without even noticing.

Wow - if she looks like that now, can you imagine how many hearts she was breaking 55-75 years ago?
#4 have you ever looked at the statistics for age vs road death/serious injury? Here in the UK the most reliable sources don't differentiate whether casualties were inside the car or outside, but the bulk of injuries are caused by the youngest drivers. Even adjusting for the fact that there are fewer older drivers actually on the road, you still end up with a massive age bias towards crashes- and it's not the old ones doing the crashing.
I get stuck behind them when they are going slow, or getting lost, or when they change their mind halfway through a manoeuvre, or being overcautious at a junction - and I get mad at them. Within a mile I'm usually mad at myself, instead, for being so unreasonable.
