Amazing concept but i doubt that angular momentum would be that easy to calibrate.

I agree #1. I really, really doubt that it could land vertically. Any wind would be very hard to compensate, even with modern control systems.

My question is where is all that damn fuel going to be stored. That is a lot to carry into orbit to use up back on the way down.

less scrap into space, cheaper, faster to send one again up there.

nasa used to allow for paradropping anywhere on Earth, based on diplomacy and neutrality of Space: the above shows fuel for returning onto territory and that's trading grounds, competition, and beginning of Space harnessing. it shows Diplomacy may bring in Delays which Trading grounds cannot afford. nice.
