#5 Yeah, you're right. Having had cats around me my entire life I know of what you speak. Cats *very* social when they're hungry or just wants something from you in general.

#6 My cat does exactly the same things when I'm away for any length of time. He walks up and looks me in the eye just so he's sure he has my attention and then turns his back to me and sits there for ages before walking away without looking back.

Normally, cats are very independent creatures, they tend to return the favor when you disrupt their comfort in some way, but I wouldn't be surprised if some cat psychologist turned up and said that there are some exceptions.
As for this cat, I wouldn't judge it's behavior only from this video, it very well may be just a part of it's habit.

There are a very few cats that have very opposite personality. I remember i visited a friends house one time, and his cat love cuddling with people. I was so surprised by his cat would not stop asking for attention.
