its a combination of the Reader-head position and the speed and direction of the Magnetic-disc turning. i think..
in the bad old days, they used a voice coil to position the head on a hard disk drive. looks as if it is making a comeback

oh yes something i dont understand or cant do, wow must be fake.
why cant you people just watch a fucking video and forget about in the next second.
back in the day i had a few FDD make a sound like this.....not the stars war theme tho....loop :20 over and over again and thats what its sounded like lol.

its not so difficult to make if you know a little bit about step-motors and electrics..
