#2 You are not supposed to help. It is imperative that they learn this themselves. You should, however, help if and when there is no hope left.

#2 Human smell is very bad on most kinds of animals. Not sure how ducks are but humans should never intervene when it comes to animals(like in this video!), especially a mother and their children.

#8 That "Animals reject their kids because of human smell" is a big ongoing rumor. You can touch ducklings all you want, the mother doesnt care. But yes..you should not intervene. The ducklings have to learn and not learn to rely on humans.
