http://gizmodo.com/a-watch-that-puts-an-entire-planetarium-on-your-wrist-1509739657

it's actually only $240.000, but still it's kinda ridiculous buying one of those. It's a real cool craftsmanship tho

I mean really! How long before the reason the watch was made fades into insignificance and you just use it to tell the time ::(|)

If people have the money, there's a market.

$330.000 for a mechanical watch (read no battery and no microcontroller/computer) which is precise enough to compute the ephemeris of six planets makes sense, given the features, the precious metals and the precious rocks everywhere on it. There's more coverage here: http://www.ablogtowatch.com/van-cleef-arpels-complication-poetique-midnight-planetarium-watch-hands/ .

High-end watches start at around $20k and there really isn't any limit. A company called Graff is selling a watch and bracelet that is only made of colored diamonds for 22 million dollars. Yup.
