Too quiet for a Harley.

"The prototype is powered by a longitudinally-mounted electric motor rated at 74 hp and 52 lb-ft of torque, on par with H-D’s 833 cc internal combustion engine. The battery-powered unit was developed with help from electric powertrain specialist Mission Motors. Harley-Davidson says the belt-driven bike can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under four seconds, and has an electronically restricted top speed of 92 mph."

Oh, great. Another type of Harley that ends up broken down on the side of the road. Only with this one, nobody will know how to fix it.

They nailed parts of the design, the curves and shapes do resemble old classic bikes. But then they ruin it with those led strip blinkers and lots of small details that doesn't really fit with that style imo. But i've never been a harley fan, mostly cause of the design styles.
As for what #3 says, no need to downvote him, cause he is after all pointing out something with roots in reality. Newer HD bikes has problems with some of the designs, something with the parts in the engine that has a really bad failure rate at very random milage. HD used to be iconic back in the days, but today they are merely a mass producing factory like any other brand. And just look at the used market, there are as many HD bikes for sale as Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda bikes, which are considered mainstream.

#3 & #4 The old days of a Harley being worked on at the side of the road are long past. Ever since Harley
developed the Evolution 1340 cc engine in 1984 they have been very solid and reliable motorcycles. In 1999 Harley started switching over to the more powerful 1450 cc Twin Cam engine which was a great move for Harley and all us guys who like to build more horsepower into them. For the first couple of years the Twin Cam had some cam bearing problems which were traced to inferior INA needle bearings.Switching over to Torrington B-148 needle bearings cured that problem for good. (i)
In 10 years of riding a Harley it has never let me down even though I am running almost double the horsepower it came with from the factory. 8-)

Electric cars are good from an emissions standpoint but are a danger to pedestrians because of how quiet they are. (I can't tell you how many times I've walked in front of a Prius in a parking lot!)

Now we have a silent killer that is a danger to everyone; rider, pedestrians and cars alike. If loud pipes save lives, then an electric bike is sure to kill.

Worst best idea ever.

#8 i hope you are joking. So a big charcoal powered steam train is better because you can hear Choo Choo miles before? How about pedestrians look left and right before crossing a street..or hoping that the green light gives you the right to cross a street with out looking. Should bicycles also make wroom wroom so pedestrians look left/right?
