#1, its the Leidenfrost effect, when liquid that comes into contact with something much hotter than itself forms an insulating layer of vapor preventing it from boiling and simultaneously protecting your hand from short term exposure
You can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leidenfrost_effect

Now this is only an Idea okay. I don't want to see anyone get hurt you understand but lets assume, just for the sake of science and space travel, that you were to take one of those large drink dispensers that you get in offices, (hold a few gallons I think) and using the same substances as in the video, but adding one extra ingredient, ie one thin friend.
Actually one thin, light friend and some strong but also light string to attach thin, light friend (willing light thin friend, he must be a willing light, thin friend) a risk taker if I'm honest.
So to be clear we need a willing risk taking light thin friend and perhaps three or four of these water containers and string and something else I have forgotten?
The rest is absolutely best left to the imagination........................................................................Oh and a crash helmet that's the other thing

#2 Mythbusters showed that you can use this effect to stick your finger into molten lead unharmed:

But I wouldn't do that at home.
