Just think...our children won't have to worry about exhausted/intoxicated drivers, road rage, etc. These things could link into the congestion mapping of Google maps to take the fastest routes at a given time, eliminating road congestion too. And in the 700,000 miles these things have driven so far, there have been zero accidents. I just can't wait for the future.

this is an incredible piece of technology, groundbreaking and ingenious... but man do i hate the way it looks!

I think that in a hopefully close future may every person guilty of DUI be made to use only self driving cars for at least 10 years.

I also think we should first concentrate on solving the big problems of the world and stop wasting energy on things that less than 10% can enjoy while billions of people starve to death.

#7 if you only concentrated on the biggest problems, you'd rarely solve anything. It's perfectly reasonable to tackle these smaller problems and the other problems at the same time. You've given a great example of a logical fallacy called False Dilemma. Researching driver-less cars does not mean appropriate resources are not being given to other issues.
