Vintage world's first electric start cheinsaw

The saw actually had it's own small battery-pack on-board with a charging system under the flywheel.

#3 I hate to break it to you but all chainsaws are 2 stroke because they put out more
power for their weight than a 4 stroke engine.
This saw with electric start was still considered "lightweight" compared to
all the heavy monsters that had been available in the years before.

Back in the day McCulloch chainsaws were the best.

#4. No, there are also electric chainsaws (although not as powerful). OK, this thing came from 1967. The entire two stroke concept has been plaguing us for years because there's no economic incentive to improve on it. Even today they sell these infernal, noisy, polluting machines on all kinds of devices, from bikes to leaf blowers to lawn mowers. Can't stand them. Sorry.

#7 So how do you go out in the woods to get firewood; with a half mile of extension cord for your quiet electric saw.
2 strokes have improved quite a bit from the old days actually. They are starting to use fuel injection instead of
carburetors and the gas/oil ratios are getting much leaner as the additive packages for 2 stroke oil have gotten
better.
