The nautical equivalent of lowering the air pressure in tires to go under a low bridge :-) Nicely done!

The suspense was unbearable, it almost looked like he wouldn't make it, I chewed up all my fingernails...
And it's not even my boat!

There's not a lot of room to spare. Very nicely done, skipper!

He's got an ace up his sleeve as insurance: if he decides there's not enough room (around 1:30) then he can make a tight u-turn to starboard (that'll be to the right for you landlubbers) to move the masthead back and away from the bridge.

believe me only captains with big balls can cross under these bridges

I want to know how he gets them out there in the first place. I see how he pulls them in but once they over the deck what force
gets them out to the side?

@ #8 nomaddaf
He would have started on the other side of the river, going away from the bridge. Then, a hard turn to port will get them out.

This maneuver was done on the eastern US Intracoastal Waterway using two tons of water. The balls get filled and then swung out with an initial turn to port or starboard. The tendency then is for the roll to continue by itself, but is controlled by letting the bags out slowly with a control-line made off to each bag and running each to a winch in the cockpit. I jet skied on that waterway for many years and it is amazing to see how some of the tall boats get under bridges.
