Dr Steven Hawking is such an amazing human, an impressive mind and a fun person. It's so sad that fate brought him down this way.
I really recommend his biography documentary realized near 2003 to anyone interested in the person.

An example that will be recalled for centuries.

#2 ....I know how he did it, but you might have a hard time accepting it. Blaine himself is likely not sure exactly how it was done. You see, since the deck was stacked before hand, two possibilities present themselves. Blaine either 'pushed' hawking by telepathic suggestion, glimpsed the immediate future regarding Hawking's choice, or some combination of the two.

It happens. Even more at this late hour, as our Creators spirit is poured out upon all flesh. Use what gifts you find yourself blessed with for the Good.

Hard time believing?.....check this out...

#2 well, the answer is easy, it's all about options!

***SPOILER ALERT******SPOILER ALERT******SPOILER ALERT***
A statistical fact: most people will think of the Nine of diamonds, Ace of spades, Queen of Hearts or the Six of Clubs. The magician has to make sure to have these cards on special places inside the deck to be able to find it easily ("Take the first/second card from top/bottom" = four options). If the spectator chooses a really exotic card, a good magician has always more than one "card reveal" trick in petto to switch over to...

#5 True..and Blaine often uses an "Invisible Deck" for his "Name any card" tricks. With an invisible deck the spectator can name any card and when the magician spreads the deck there is one card face down..its the card the spectator named. I got the feeling that this was a very lucky coincident..maybe the ace of spades was on top and if hawkins had named any other card it would have been face down in the deck.

What is also very effective is NLP. If you are very good in NLP, then you can make the people say the things you want. I have seen some shows and the guy used to write some words on a paper and make the other persons say these words. He was talking to them and then asking a question and their answer was already written on the paper. He made it with cards and made the people to say the name of the card which was already written on the paper, or made someone say milk as his favorite drink, but actually he hated milk and he was surprised why he told milk as his favorite drink. The guy was very good in NLP and he told that he could make almost anyone to say the thing or words he wanted and even influence them on their choice of buying things or make them buy what he suggests; of course it should be in the budget limits of the buyer.

#7 more likely the show youre referring to just used standard mentalism prediction tricks and sold it as NLP. Derren Brown admittedly does it this way. It is a fascinating thougt that charismatic people can influence your behavior though clever wording, but youre actually not that easy to manipulate subconciously.

On another note: Just becouse hawkins is paralysed, Blaine does not have to speak that slowly like he was mentally disabled.
