[nerd]That's actually impossible. The pressure of the water breaks the air in to less energy consuming form, a bubble.[/nerd]

I think it is totally fake, made with Alan DV 2 a video editing program , it is a person in a empy swiming pool , then turned upside down and added effects , seems real , but it's impossible!

It's actually not that hard. I can do it too.

Hey Doubting tomas, and most_unique, it's not impossible. As others have said here, it's not against the laws of physics and it's not that hard to do. This guy does hold his breath for a long time though. And have a long hard think about why he's upside down, huh?

13 Posted 486 days ago by dave9191

Most people can hold their breath if they really try for a min or so. So I can happily accept that a person can lie underwater for 1 min 14 sec as in the vid.

But there is no way that you can keep exhaling so many bubbles for that long. I'd say that after 20 sec he should have been out of air, but he just keeps going. And I cant see any air intake around his mouth. So unless there is something hidden under that mask of his, then I will lean towards this being fake.

too much air going out and not enough air going in. fakeness.

maybe he's blowing straight up

Where the hell did he get that much air in his lungs ???? I mean the video is 1:14 ...plus the fact that he is blowing air out :|

I think 7 (tomas) is right. Look at his arms, if he really is upside down, he would to hold his body in position, but it seems there is no muscle tension. And what about his hair, ok its short, but it doesnt "feel" right for hair under water :-) And of course as other mention it, the air. when you blow a lot air out of your lungs, you shorten the time you can be under water. And this fellow doesnt seem to be an apnoe diver with trained lung volume :-)
but nevermind, nicly done ! ;)

ok forget my last post.
i looked at it again a couple of times... its no fake. watch the first few seconds, he is lying on the ground of the pool, and a person is standing over him filming. you can see a metal thing lying on his belly. a couple of times through out the video you can see the bubble is catched by the camera, so the cameraman is moving the cam to get rid of it. but how he is mananging the air is still unknown to me, guess its just take a lot of practice.

its not upsidedown look at 0:52 he moves the camera and you can see the bottom of the pool.

ermmm i think maybe he is doing it! Fuck knows how though.

Its not impossible but just because it isnt doesnt mean it still can be fake.

I can do that with a sigaret! 8-)

You can learn all about bubble rings at www.bubblerings.com
They explain

PS the physics involved here is pretty simple and easy to understand so get in your pool and try it !!! :)

How does one discover they have this skill? I can see a whole bunch of people hanging out upside down in their pools trying this :)

P.S Lol to Jager

I think that the something at his right ear is some tube for air and that he is breathing trough his nose. And also I think he is lying on the bottom of the pool and cameraman is on the edge and have only his camera under the water...

28 Posted 485 days ago by USAnumber1

I too think that an air-supply tube is concealed behind him and enters his mask near his right ear requiring him to inhale thru his nose. These rings do not have to rise to the surface;they can be projected horizontally, vertically or at any angle in-between.It looks to me as though he is hanging up-side-down from the edge of a pool and the thing on his stomach could be his air supply. The camera man is careful to avoid showing what is on his stomach so that must be part of the trick. ;)

very wierd ... maybe a air-tank on his belly? and getting air through the mask/nose?

now that's a breath :) cool sound too, wonder where the mic was...

I got it...

The man isnt up side down, he is on the bottom, looking up, as MarekX said..

and the camera man is on the edge, thats why the guy is on that position, he couldnt be as close to the edge with other position...

you can see the bubbles coming up, as do the rings... directly to the camera..
one little bubble even get stuck on the camera, that means, the camera is pointing down..

the thing on his belly is only the weigth, something to keep him at the bottom

thats about the scenario... i may try it on the next summer (its winter on Brazil)

keep up! :D

He is not lying on the bottom of the pool,at .52 when the camera is moved you catch a glimpse of the pool bottom. These bubble rings do not just rise to the surface, they go in whatever direction they are blown in. Look at the way the Beluga whales do them in the other video .

33 Posted 484 days ago by carlos1818

Thats not the bottom the camera catch.. thats de pool's wall (lateral), its even brighter

and, have you ever tried to make a bubble go straight forward on a pool? (not up)

not rated

34 Posted 484 days ago by USAnumber1

Well gee carlos , you must not have watched the Beluga whales in the other video like I had mentioned, they ARE going forward or even a little bit at a down angle. Did you bother to educate yourself by going to the link I provided at #22 to understand what makes these bubble rings do what they do? You can shoot them in any direction sideways or up. They do not act like normal air bubbles, the spinning action allows them to travel sideways as demonstrated by the Japanese Beluga whales.
I still think he is upside down. :D

About you guys (or girls) who think it's impossible to hold your breath for that long, it's not. The world record for the longest held breath underwater is a little over 14 min. So I think this guy can do the bubbles for that long.

#35/36 but he is not 'holding' his breath...he is blowing it out rapidly. Breathing tube !!!
