They should have just gotten the whole thing over with and played Hannah Montana music; he would use his ammo on the speakers, and then be defenseless.

ok, the guy wants to die, there are fucking snipers there. cant they just miss and hit him in his temple (rather than bring him into the prison system or mental health system)?

#6 He gave up after he realized what had just happened to his gun. I guess he knew there was nothing else to do but give up. They put him on the ground at the end because they didn't know if he was armed with another weapon. Also, the sniper said (on another program) that he used a technique called "patterning." The man in the chair would raise the gun and point it at different things, but would always bring the gun back to the same resting point between his legs. That was his "pattern." When the sniper was given the oder to shoot, he just waited for the man to repeat his pattern and for the gun to come back into his crosshairs... and Bang! Gun is no longer a factor.
