No, actually - I was speaking to an American friend of mine and his response was: "There were two problems with this method. Firstly, the guy rigging the dynamite was obviously inept. Secondly, not enough dynamite was used."

See - you CAN solve every problem with dynamite.

@ #4 - it looks like FAR too much dynamite was used. The dynamite should have been placed internally which would have been more effective at destroying the whole carcass.

WTF a half ton of TNT is barely enough to disintegrate a cow let alone a WHALE. If you want to disintegrate a whale just use about 300 lbs of THERMITE!
