Blind Woman Sees Her Son for the Very First Time

eSight glasses, an amazing new technology that I also use, helped her see the birth of her son. What an incredible moment!

I understand this contraption is basically an overcomplicated magnifying glass and maybe a light enhancer for people whose really bad vision makes them 'legally' blind. The claims in this video seem pretty bold. I hope no absolutely blind people or their relatives get false hope from this.

Her baby's first thoughts: "Gee. My mum's a welder." :)

My thoughts were similar to the comments #1 made. I'm certainly no expert and I mean no disrespect but if she has never seen a baby, at 54 seconds into the video it seems like her eyes are functioning quite well for somebody who has been blind their whole life. If this is a device for people with partial vision, that is an important piece of information left out, and following it up with a link to "make blindness history"...that would therefor be disrespectful to people who are totally blind, in my opinion.

From eSight site:
"eSight works for most people that are legally blind (also known as having low-vision). eSight does not work for people who are totally or profoundly blind, as there needs to be some vision, however slight, that eSight can electronically enhance."

Indeed I expected her to be bawling about being able to see her newborn, the absence is really weird.

#3 +10! LOL
