#2 Having a single cam set low down between the heads instead of multiple cams mounted above the heads allows for a lower overall height of the engine which lowers the center of gravity for better handling and allows for a lower hood height for better visibility.
The power and tq delivered speaks for itself and if you happened to watch the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona you saw the Corvettes dominate their classes against Porsche, Ferrari,BMW and all those OHC engines.

#3 Merica'n you are not an engineer. I run engines over 200 hp per ltr sorry you would not understand that it is like a bud lite but a bit bigger. Your fuel is cheap so you don't need to bother updating. However how can you explain the great insurgence of Japanese cars in the us and German for that matter making a mockery of you jim crack shite. I forgot to say haha you just started to think about fuel injection. Just taking the piss but I am right you have no higher ground apart from cheep fuel.

#4 Your argument doesn't hold water. The ZO6 gets 23 mpg highway, the same as the 2015 GTR which costs over $20 thousand more. You just can't stand being bested by American ingenuity.

You are very uninformed about everything you said.
Inventions? Are you retarded or something? Look them up for yourself loser.
What third world country are you from?

#7 What argument are you talking about? I don't thing that is a fair comparison just look at any and I hate them but look at any bmw and the power per liter for capacity and for the amout of fuel. I am in the UK and live in a house older than america I apreciate your very nice singing the song sheet you have no idea of engineering. I am only repling for my own enjoyment it is like there is a monkey on the end of this !!

#10 1st electric car was 1857 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_electric_vehicle
There were speed records in electric cars before steam and IC.
Please learn some history. You are not an engineer either.

#17 And even with all the DOHC, biturbo,multi-valve tech no Japanese or European muscle production cars can beat the ZO6, especially for the price. And that is proven on the race track. Go figure.
Variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation are both incorporated in the LT4 engine, btw.
HAHA! The facts are hard to swallow aren't they.

It is all horses for courses. I would love to build a rat rod with a small block Chevy. But I really like cars that have no fat like the lotus Elise, weights nothing and tiny engine but great handling on French and German roads not English, and still do 40 miles per gallon, if not more. Thank for all the fun with the replies.

#20 and that's why there's so many choices on the road today, to each his own.
Personally I prefer American V-8's such as the Corvette's and others, but also have huge respect for Lotus and their zest for min. weight and for BMW who's mission for a long time was no forced induction, just very finely made lightweight engines.
Low end torque puts a smile on your face every time.
