I disagree #(removed comment). Sounds to me like a teacher who is passionate, believes in what he's doing for a living, and wants to to be a change in the lives of the kids he's teaching.

I'd take a "bit o psycho" over "worn out and disenfranchised" any day.

Sadly those are very uncommon in schools. During all my years in school I encountered two teachers who were passionate about what they were doing. Two teachers in about 13 years. Those you remember, the rest you forget.

real teacher is like a common sense, rarest thing on the planet, because what most teachers are here to teach is: "obey", "don't question authority", don't stand out", don't be different"...

#(removed comment) The only type of parent who wouldn't want a guy like this as a teacher for their child is the kind of parent that is so, so common in society at the moment. The kind of parent that thinks their child can do no wrong, when in fact their child is the most disruptive child in the classroom. Try and explain this at a school meeting and this type of parent is likely to throw a punch.

The type of parent who spends no time at all with their child except playing videogames with them. The type of parent who has no respect for the education system and that is pretty much the only thing that they teach their own child. The kind of parent who is straight down to the school if a teacher told his or her child off "How dare you talk to my Fecking child that way" #(removed comment) is this you?

Sadly, one passionate teacher does not represent the majority of teachers I've come across in my teaching career. Institutionalised professionals are in it for the pension at the end and usually resent the kids.
