keeping us wondering how their lives were taking hings for granted, not knowing things might vanishes in seconds. a cheating husband or wife, stealing money or even ignoring the loved ones. what would have they done if they saw this coming. what would you do if you saw this coming?
time to call the loved ones and be happy they are just there unharmed. atleast for the time being

Okay Bible bashes everywhere was this another flood, earthquake & fire sent by God to get rid of all the bad people in Lisbon? or was it a natural set of disasters?

#5 It might have been divine punishment for Portugal being the first and most "successful" country in the African slave trade business back then. Ship records show over 4.65 million slaves were carried by Portuguese slave ships , mostly to supply slaves to Spanish owned plantations and to South America.

#8 I'm curious. Where did you get those numbers from? Let alone the fact that the spanish, for example, pretty much wiped out entire civilizations.

Thanks for the links #10! For the others that are constantly down-voting the humour or Bible/religion questioning, it's called IRONY (pick up a dictionary, or look it up on the internet). They were celebrating a holy day (Feast of All Saints) and the candles led to the burning down of the city after the earthquake and tsunami (like adding insult to injury). I suggest that you screw a 60 Watt bulb in your butts, plug your finger into a socket, and lighten the fuck up!

#12 Because the same people that are down-voting any reference to God in this post, are the the same ones that would yell "Praise Jeebuz" if they won $10 in a scratch-and-win lotto ticket. They will also say that God should somehow take credit for the Polio vaccine and He works in "mysterious" ways that only He knows. Yet they will look you straight in the face and tell you that something "is all part of God's plan" as if they somehow (now) KNOW what it is. This also goes for Allah, Vishnu, Odin, or whatever deity (or deities) it is that someone happens to pray to during that religious era/reign. You can't go praising a deity solely for the good stuff without blaming them for the bad as well. If God is all-powerful, He wouldn't have "let" that happen. Kinda like the "Noah" story. God realizes that he screwed up, so he drowns innocent kids and babies so as to start over again?? WTF??
