'Any landing you walk away from is a good one'. Loads of pilots during the second world war ( and since ) did exactly the same thing but under far more trying circumstances, like being shot up, on fire, controls all shot up...all the same he did an excellent job of landing without breaking the plane into little pieces.

Prime example of when not to try and save money. If you are going to buy an old plane and this one is over seventy years old, it's probably worth spending a few extra pounds to get one with fecking wheels. I made the same mistake recently by buying an old Alfa Romeo Spider, several to choose from and at the last minute I though No feck it! I can save three grand here what's the worse that can happen, then feck me I tried to land it and the fecking back tyre (left side) got a puncture, so I had to over shoot the fecking runway ended up in a fecking lake.

#5 That's not a WWII-vintage Spitfire and it's certainly not 70 years old. It's an 80% scale replica built from a kit.Like any mechanical device, every once in awhile some part or other will fail. That pilot did an excellent job of landing his plane with no damage to himself or anyone else and minimal damage to the plane. The prop can be replaced and the bent flaps straightened out.

#7 Okay I've checked with the airfield concerned and your boss and two very interesting things came to light. Thing one was that the plane was 20% further away than it looked making it appear 80% the size of the real spitfire that it is. Further more your boss says you are not to be trusted and that your hobby is making up statistics all day long!, very unpopular with the rest of the shoe shop team.

it's perfect for "cloud spotting" ( hunting cloud shapes ), or just lying in the grass, looking at the clouds and forgetting about everything
good piloting skills by the way
