To some people heavy metal is Motorhead and to others it's Judas Priest.

#1 And if you listen to the National Academy of Recording Arts and Science sometimes it's Jethro Tull. Just ask Metalica.

"Missing the tips of the middle and ring finger of his right hand , over time, interfered with his guitar playing, and by 1970 affected the Black Sabbath sound, as he had to detune his guitar from E to Eb and by 1971 had detuned it further to Db in order to ease the tension on his injured fingers. Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler did the same to match Iommi. The band was among the first bands to detune, and the technique became a practice of heavy metal music."
I went to see Black Sabbath perform along with Blue Oyster Cult back in 1971 while Ozzy was still a young normal-looking long-haired rocker.Been a fan ever since.
