When Did Americans Lose Their British Accents?
Over time the British accent gave way to the American accent but oddly, it’s because the British don’t speak the way they used to.

Americans have never had a British Accent.....No one does.....
There's English accents. Manchester, etc etc.
And Americans lost the English accent when we had an extreme influx of many different refugees and immigrants during the earlier years of independence, seeking "unowned" lands.
And to the 8th comment, 12,000 years ago my ancestors were arriving in Ireland, the Tuatha De Danann, killing and enslaving the tribal Fomorians/Fir Bolg that already lived there. Though, you are partially right. Science believes we all came from the cradle of humanity and first started migrating a couple million years ago. We weren't Homo sapiens sapiens at that time, mind you.
