The guy describing shadow did a god job. An analogy for rainbows i would have chosen is a meal, separated into all its flavors. Getting all poetic and excited about it in the face of a person, who is missing out on it seems a bit cruel to me. Sure, a sunset is a nice thing to watch, but they make it sound like it is the best thing ever.

I would explain a shadow like if there is a heater and you can feel the warmth on a wall at the oposite side. Now an object stands between the heater and the wall. You can feel the object at the wall, because the exact shape of it creates a perfect cold spot on a small part of the wall, blocking the heat.

After viewing this i would have to say that if I had to choose between vision and hearing I'd choose vision. You can still feel sound to a certain extent, but it would be almost pointless to have someone try to describe some things that are around you because some of the best moments in life are seeing something amazing with someone and enjoying the moment without having to speak. Would a sunset be as amazing if you had to describe it and knew you were doing a bad job of it?

#3 Your body will adjust to either way. It's hard to understand sounds and noises but when you're blind it takes on a whole different form. It's truly beautiful, just like seeing colors but in another sense.
