Rudimentary observation of the underlying causative issue:

Hers is an angry REaction by an insecure woman.
(exacerbated when accompanied by an obviously pacifist man...)

Her Anger is caused by Fear.

She is AFRAID that there are 'strings' attached,
and that HE will persist beyond her ability to resist.

Example...

Father to 4yr old boy:
"Son, stay out of the street because you will get hit by a car."

Father emphatically: (notices son playing dangerously close to the street)
"Son, Don't Play That Close To The Street!!"

Father REacts: (notices son playing IN the street, and Angrily YELLS...)
"SON!!! I TOLD YOU NOT TO PLAY IN THE STREET!!!!"

Why?

Father is AFRAID son will get hit by a car...
