What was the big left turn at 1:08? Did they get lost? The thing to remember is, they have to walk back out! Who was out there walking around to even find this peak?

Maybe they weren't able to cross safely #3, due to crevices and such, they seem to mostly walk along the base of mountain, but I don't know for sure, just my guess...the answers to the rest of your question lies at Google...
