Bodysurfing - First Front Flip

The first documented front flip in bodysurfing competition. The maneuver was performed by Kaneali'i Wilcox. Kaneali'i is a bodysurfer for team Kaha Nalu Hawaii (kahanaluhawaii.com/) and executed this trick during the third round of the Point Panic Bodysurfing Championship. He was eventually crowned champion.

body surfing tournament huh? They musta been goin for the gold medal in the tournament of most variety of tournaments or smth, lol.. Seriously, never heard of such a competition, but not surprised really. As to the 'flip', they must use the term loosely, bc what i saw looked more like a somersault

He just kind of rolled forward with the wave,legs sprawled apart, nothing too special there.
Now if he had shot out from the front of the wave and done a front flip and then dived back into the water,well that would have been special. :D

Bodysurfing is pretty difficult to do especially on that small of a wave. Remember, the First of almost every stunt pales in comparison to how it's done after being perfected. It'll be interesting to see where this goes from here especially on bigger waves!
